I have used the following book which is quite informative and
imaginative: Mahabharata, a spiritual interpretation by Sri Nava
Kumar, Publisher Jamshedpur : Sura Sadan Pub., 1979, 168pp.
Ruth Katz, "The Sauptika Episode in the Structure of the
Mahabharata," pp 130-149, In "Essays on the Mahabharata" edited by
Arvind Sharma, E.J. Brill, Leiden, 1991, gives a Saiva interprtation
to the post-war events.
