Super Moon and the Lunar Nodes

Hi Thor:

 

I would not be at all surprised to see some quake activity and further

financial craziness in the USA going into this Full Moon. In addition

to the S.A. perspective, there are a couple of things that show up

Tropically that add intensity here. (And I do understand that we limit

our discussions to S.A. on this Site.)

 

I deeply regret not having the time I need to look at the relevant

charting in more detail. Why is it we always get busier when the fun

times come?

2008, when the Moon also moved into its nearest point to Earth,

called perigee, at the same time as its fullest phase of the Lunar

Cycle. The Moon appeared to be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the

year's other full moons.

 

At that time, the Sun at 27° Scorpio and

5th house was conjunct natal Saturn as 8th lord, while the Moon at 27°

Taurus and 11th house, was both opposite natal Saturn and exactly

afflicted by transit Saturn at 27° Leo and 2nd house. Here we

have direct connection of the perigee full Moon with the MMP in

the SAMVA USA chart.

 

So, what happened then?

Good to have your prediction, which I believe you are basing on the Super Moon phenomenon.

 

The focus on SAMVA list is simply on finding charts and perfecting methods that yield predictive accuracy. I've considered it fortunate indeed to have 's guidance on this list, as he is developing SA with an eye to ever increasing predictive accuracy and has founded e.g. the International Institute of Predictive Accuracy (IIPA) to promote such astrology. Accordingly, on SAMVA list, the 'art of explaining after the fact' is not considered real astrology (unless, of course, it is accompanied by a consistent method and effort of prediction). As for the super Moon concept, aside from the visual interest, it is not really part of SA. My predictions for the UK chart relates more to the influence of the stationary nodes on the natal Moon at 28° Gemini, as well as the transit Saturn - transit Mars opposition involving the transit Moon at the time of the full Moon. Given the natal

influence, the affliction of transit Moon could act as trigger for some event. That said, I do not see the same connection of the full perigee Moon on January 30, 2010 in the SAMVA USA chart, as was the case on December 12, 2008, when the Maddoff story broke. That said, the nodal station is having an influence on natal Venus as 4th lord in the 6th house - and Rahu natally afflicts the 6th house while Ketu natally afflicts the 4th house (as well as the 8th house, where transit Jupiter, as 6th lord, is currently placed in transit).

 

We'll soon see how the various predictions made for the coming weekend fare.

Glad to hear you appreciate SA method and SAMVA list. In my view the best astrologers are predictive in orientation, use a transparent method for interpreting the planetary influences and more often than not are successful in their predictions. Not only is the Moon being Super, but Mars is in its closest approach to Earth (making Mars a much badder Bad Boy), Moon is rather close to the Celestial Equator - adding even more voltage, and Sun being conjunct Venus gives us a Mars/Venus opposition (again, with Mars having more of an 'attitude'). There are also some important realities involving the outer planets that come into play here.
