Dear List members,
yes the 2nd lord in the 12th does not automatically casue poverty. Dhana
(wealth) yogas and Poverty yogas must both be considered. The 2nd lord in
teh 12th just means there is a lot of expense on account of family, or
possessions.

Here is a list of yogas that cause poverty and such hardships on the native,
these are a compilation, from my upcoming book, Core Yogas, that we are
using in our software, Kaala, that the computer will search through.

1. Abhi Yoga: Lagna lord in 12th, a malefic in 10th, and Chandra with Kuja.
"One wanders in distant places and suffers from penury."

6. Daridra -deprived- Yoga: Surya and Chandra in Kumbha, and Guru, Kuja,
Sukra and Sani in debilitation.
"Even a king's son always remains penurious."

7. Daridra -deprived- Yogas
1. Guru as lagna or 8th lord is stronger then the 9th lord and the weak 11th
lord is not in an angle and combust.
2. Guru, Kuja, Sani or Buddha depressed or combust in the 11th, 6th, 12th,
8th, or 5th.
3. Sani in the 9th aspected by malefics, and Budha in conjunction with Surya
is in the lagna in debilitation navamsa.
4. Guru, Budha, Sukra, Sani, and Kuja in the 8th, 6th, 12th, 5th and 10th in
any order, and the 12th lord though debilitated or combust is nevertheless
stronger then the lagna lord.
5. Moveable lagna in rasi and navamsa, aspected by Sani as well as
debilitated Guru.
6. Guru in 6th or 12th in a sign other then his own.
7. Fixed lagna and all the malefics in angles and trines while benefics are
not in angles.
8. Moveable lagna during night birth, benefics in angles and trines without
strength, and malefics not in angles.
"One afflicted with Daridra yoga is generally unlucky; his organs of sense
may be defective; he is crafty, reproved and rated by his family. Being in
difficulties, he has to live by begging. One's speech is disagreeable and
one is addicted to lust and gluttony. Mean, one daily gives way to his spite
and speaks pungent words; he would earn money by foul means; and his heart
is always set on other people's wives. Oftentimes he is blind, mute, idiotic
and leprous. Fond of quarreling, he destroys what is beneficial to others,
he is ungrateful and given to boasting; he has no reverence for Brahmans,
has a bad wife and is afflicted with diseases, and ugly nails."

8. Daridra -deprived- Yogas
1. 12th lord and lagna lords in parivartana and influenced by the 7th lord.
2. 6th and lagna lords in parivartana and Chandra is aspected by the 2nd or
7th lord.
3. Ketu and Chandra in lagna.
4. Lagna lord in 8th aspected or with the 2nd or 7th lord.
5. Lagna lord in dusthana with a malefic, and influenced by the 2nd or 7th
lord.
6. Lagna lord with the 6th, 8th or 12th lord and under malefic influence.
7. 5th lord with the 6th, 8th or 12th lord without beneficial influence.
8. 5th lord in 6th or 10th aspected by the 2nd, 6th, 7th, 8th or 12th lord.
9. Malefics who are not the 9th or 10th lords in lagna and influenced by a
maraka lord.
10. Lagna and navamsa lagna lords in dusthana and influenced by the 2nd and
7th lords.
"One suffers dire poverty, financial straits, wretchedness and miseries."

10. Hala -plough-Yoga: All planets in 1st and 12th houses.
"One will be inclined towards anger, very poor, a farmer, disabled, and
short-lived."

12. Hutasana -oblation eater- Yoga: Sani, Kuja, Chandra and Budha in
debilitation, and Sukra in Makara.
"One becomes a sharer of the troubles and pains which cannot be alleviated
or pacified."

13. Jala -stupid man- Yoga: Surya, Chandra, and Mangal joined in 1st, 4th,
7th, 10th, 9th or 12th, being devoid of strength.
"One will be a dunce, unimportant, and devoid of any wisdom and wealth.
Having no fixity of mind, one will be subject to mental worries. Stubborn
(in the sense, that he will not accept any good thinking), he will depend on
others for food."

16. KemaDrum Yoga: 9th lord in 12th, 12th lord in 2nd weak, and malefics in
3rd.
One will be after other's wives, will always look to others for food, will
indulge in bad deeds, be sensual, and contract several debts.

18. Kemadruma Yogas:
1. 4th from lagna (or Chandra) occupied by a malefic.
2. Sani and Sukra occupying in the rasi and vargas debilitation, inimical or
malefic signs, located together or in mutual aspect.
"One is bereft of health, wealth, learning, wisdom, spouse, children, and
mental peace. One suffers misery, failure, and humiliation."

21. Parapreshyaka -slave- Yogas
1. Surya in 10th, Chandra in 7th, Sani in 4th, Kuja in 3rd, Guru in 2nd and
a moveable lagna in birth at night.
2. Night birth, moveable lagna, lagna lord in sandhi, and a malefic in an
angle.
3. Sani, Chandra, Guru, and Sukra in an angle or trine during the day and in
sandhi, while a fixed lagna.
4. Guru in Iravathamsa in a sandhi, Chandra possessed of an Uttamavarga is
outside the angles, Sukra in the lagna and birth is at night in the dark
half.
5. Kuja, Guru, and Surya respectively in the sandhis of the 6th, 4th, and
10th houses.
6. Chandra in a malefics navamsa but in a benefic rasi, and Guru is joined
with the lagna lord.
7. Guru in Makara in the 6th, 8th or 12th and Chandra is in the 4th.
"One is generally evil-minded, fond of quarreling, harsh in speech, a
reviler of brahmans. Lustful, intemperate, indigent, depraved, spiteful, and
wrathful he has a liking for illiterate people. Deceitful, his pastime is
lying, and he is clever in simulating tenderness and false pride."

23. Reka -low caste- Yogas
1. Lagna lord weak aspected by the 8th lord, and Guru is combust.
2. Navamsa lord of the 4th lord combust and aspected by the 12th lord.
3. 4th lord aspected by 6th lord, 9th lord with the 8th lord in the 5th and
the lagna lord is depressed.
4. Benefics in the 8th, 6th, and 12th, while malefics occupy angles and
trines and the 11th lord is weak.
5. Lagna lord with a malefic, Sukra and Guru have become invisible, and the
4th lord with a malefic disappears likewise.
6. 9th lord combust, and the lagna and 2nd lords debilitated.
7. Three planets depressed or combust and the lagna lord is weak or in a
dusthana.
8. Malefics, aspected by depressed, or inimical planets, in the 1st, 2nd,
9th, 10th, 11th, 4th, 5th, 7th or 3rd, will produce the Reka effect in
respect to the houses affected. A single malefic planet, a pair of malefic
planets or a triad of them occupying any one of the nine houses mentioned,
aspected by depressed, inimical, or malefic planets, will produce the effect
of the Rekayoga respectively in the early, the middle or the concluding
portion of life.
"One born under this yoga has neither knowledge nor wealth, he is penurious,
hostile, lustful and wrathful; his mind is always distressed; he is
disagreeable, having no beauty or grace; he is crafty, filthy, quarrelsome
and lives on alms; full of envy and rage, he reviles gods and brahmans and
is berated daily by his wife, sons, and entire family. Evil-minded, he will
be given to bad ways, be ill off, intent on injuring and abusing his
relatives; he will have ugly or diseased nails and may be short-lived; he
may beg all round; he may be a mute, cripple, blind, deaf or insane; he may
be lustful or wrathful; his thoughts may be betrayed by the change in his
eyes."

I just joined because of an e-mail on another list that I am on, I thought I
could learn something here but I am totally lost. Could someone look at my
chart and tell me what I have so that I can follow when you refer to things?
