Thirukural Written using Thiruvaaimozhi - Part 1,Comparisons !!!

Dear Bhagavathaas/Bhaktaas/Mumukshus/Vaishnavaas/Silent Observers

 

Pranaams.

I am surprised that Thiru-vaai-mozhi and Thiru-kural aregoing in parallel.

 

(Notes: I am not detailing paasurams./vyakyaanam to explain the meaning.

Please refer to vyakyaanam,thirukural,thiruvaaimozhi.

My intention Is to .., make sure even a common man can get an (a message)

idea of my email without Knowing the Nuts and Bolts of prabandham.

& also readable for those who are not fully aware of paasurams.

So story telling /Essay style is my intention !!!. )

 

This implies that one has used other's work as Reference !!!

If you look at kaari-maaran & thiruvalluvar, it is clear that both their

Objective in the literature is different. Kaarimaaran is unidirectional in

Thinking. He wants to think none other than our Almighty. “Ref : 3.9

Sonnaal Virothamithu Aakilum solluvaen kenmino ! (All 10

paasurams)” That means his thoughts are Unidirectional ! where as for

Thiruvalluvar It is multi directional ( Kadambam ) thinking. It covers

entire life cycle. With various Dimension !! There fore it is clear

that kaari-maaran thoughts are own !!! and thiruvalluvar is writing

the literature based on real time experiences and rewriting good

thoughts of others in simple words. My Kaari Maaran is also

“Mayar-vara...!”. Therefore Thiruvalluvar has extensively used

Thiru-vaai-mozhi for acquiring base knowledge for his Thiru-kural.

 

I am slowly deriving (or say comparing)to compose with my

-little knowledge that Thiru-kural and Kaarimaaran's

Thiru-vaai-mozhi are going in parallel (same word/meaning).

You are welcome to share your views/add some more !!!

These are some of list of matches , i have discovered so far

with my little knowledge compared to giants like you all ,

You have covered the text of thirukkuRAL and thiruvoimozhi of several

pAsuram-s. The period of AzhwAr-s is not universally agreed by one and

all.

 

Please permit me to discuss one text similarity ( of course the

meanings also) and a couple of quotes from EDu.

 

Thiru-voi-mozhi: "aRavanai Azhip paDai andhaNanai..'' 1-7-1; The Lord

who grants anything to the devotees even if they wish for things

other than Him and the Lord with SudharsanAzhwAr indicating the

difficulties of the devotees will be removed.

 

ThirukkuRAL " aRavAzhi andhaNan thAL sEArndhArkallAl piRavAzhi nEndhal aridhu" kaDavuL vAzhthu 8.

 

Those who do not fall unto the Divine feet of the Lord Almighty cannot

swim and cross the cycle of births.

 

It may be observed that the terms 'aRavan-Azhi and andhaNan' are stikingly similar.

 

Further, Sri ANDAL likened the Lord to a ship to cross the samsAram."
