Perhaps no occasion holds more significance for Gaudiya Vaisnavas than Sri
Jagannatha Ratha-yatra, where the boundaries between Gaura lila and Krsna lila
become blurred as the devotees dance and sing in ecstasy, externally reunited
with Mahaprabhu and internally dragging Krsna back to Vrindavana by the force
of their love.

Srila Prabhupada desired that the Ratha-yatra festival would become as
prominent today as it was in the time of Mahaprabhu. In pursuance of this wish,
Audarya organized a yearly festival leading up to the San Francisco Ratha-yatra
to assist devotees in immersing themselves in Caitanya Mahaprabhu's Ratha-yatra
lila and experiencing it on a deeper level.

Over a three-day period Swami B.V. Tripurari gave a series of 5 classes on
Ratha-yatra. In these classes he explains the history of Ratha-yatra, the inner
significance of Lord Jagannatha's appearance as brought out by Caitanya
Mahaprabhu, the plight of King- Prataparudra, and the extraordinary
manifestations of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's divine sentiments. Hearing these
talks, one comes to a new level of appreciation of Ratha-yatra and eagerly
