Default Words from Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura - 08-28-2002, 12:47 AM

'Therefore I order every man within this universe to
accept this Krsna consciousness movement and
distribute it everywhere.
'One who has taken his birth as a human being in the
land of India should make his life successful and work
for the benefit of all other people.'
C.C. Adi 9. 36, 41

I am relocating from Durban to Cape Town ( South Africa) in a Couple of days and
going through a lot of stress and strain.
Question: According to this the above statement may I understand that it
includes only people born in India or does it include people of Indian decent ?.
My ancestors moved from Kunpur/Culcutta above 155 years ago

I am now a practicing devotee due to the Efforts of his divine Grace AC
Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada and especially the wonderful devotees.

I will no longer have the comfort of senior devotees and their Lord Ships Sri
Sri Radha Radhanath and Gaura Nitai. My wife, daughter and I will be all alone
in this place Cape Town. Since I have no formal Guru I just have to pray to
Srila Prabhupada for guidance.

This relocation is trying to make my life succesful ( materially) and by the
mercy of Lord Gauranga I will try to help other people. I feel saddened that
spiritually I will be all alone.

May I humbly beg for the Vaisnava's blessings in this regard beacuse I am like a
dog with no master. If you have a master (GURU) then you can get all
protection/direction but I am just struggling along with no string attached to
me neck hence I have to go door to door to beg for a morsel of mercy.

Maya devi is very strong in Cape Town...there are lots of street people and
crime is also an issue. The atmosphere is very materialistic.

Dear Rakesh,

this command by Sri Mahaprabhu was given at a time when He was the
only preacher and His efforts were restricted to India only.

In the book, Sri Caitanya Mangala, Lord Krishna reveals to Sri Narada
His forthcoming incarnation as Lord Caitanya and describes what He
will do in this incarnation. Lord Krishna further said that even if
the "mlecchas" run away to distant lands, they would still get His
mercy because He would send His senapati-bhakta [commander-in-chief
devotee] to distribute the mercy to them.

We now know that this senapati-bhakta is none other than our dear
Srila Prabhupada, whose advent we shall be celebrating the day after
this upcoming Janmashtami. We also know that due to his efforts, the
preaching mission of Sri Mahaprabhu has reached the four corners of
the world and cannot be presently said to be restricted to India
alone.

Srila Prabhupada ki jai!

As for the command of Sri Mahaprabhu, it is automatically expanded
with the expansion of His preaching mission. I have read of His
Holiness Bhakti Caru Swami explaining this particular verse. His
Holiness said that since Sri Caitanya gave this command, He has
arranged for "Indians" to be spread out in all parts of the world and
thus it is the prime duty of "Indians" to now make their lives
perfect and further expand the mission by their preaching efforts.

It is clear thus that it does not matter if one is born in India or
of Indian descent, or anything else. All that matters is that we
follow the sublime teachings of Sri Caitanya, make our lives perfect
and then distribute the mercy to others.

Please do not despair at the lack of association of devotees and the
strong influence of maya. Please try and keep yourself mindful of Sri
Krishna's form and keep His holy name on your lips.

I beg pardon if I have offended you.

In service of Gaura-Nitai,

Sanjay
