Theoretically, on any "raw"surface, cocoanut oil is bettter than sesame
oil.Sesame is "pittavardhak" ( increases ) burning , while cocoanut is "pitta
shamanak" ( decreases ) Both as oils, obviously would have the property of the
oil--to decrease any friction / edema, etc...., but between the two, cocoanut is
better.

Thank you for the information. My question now is
whether I can overdo it. I've read that jala neti
should only be done four times per day but I need to
irrigate my sinuses every hour for the respite my
throat needs to heal. If I do it at that frequency
will I be creating additional problems, especially
from cocoanut oil.

Thank you,

Chris
