In Memory of JFK
Forty-two years ago today the world cried,
I remember the exact moment in school
We heard the news and were allowed to
Go home, to break into sobs and reflect
On what the death of a President is,
On what assassination means to a student,
How the rules of the world change in a heartbeat,
How sharing a world sorrow changes a generation
To believing in peace,
How flower children are made,
How seekers of Spirit
United in the World Soul in that moment
A shot rang out and changed the world.
