Default Fw: [NDS] For Nina-where does the light come from?

This beautiful reply was prompted by a question about
garlic and potatoes sprouting in the dark. -G

Subject: [NDS] For Nina-where does the light come from?
For Nina-from a blind friend who is physicist and shaman. Enjoy.
JoyceWell, do you want the physics answer, or the spiritual
answer?Physics:Atoms are bundles of protons and neutrons, surrounded
by clouds ofelectrons in what are called energy states. If you add
energy to an atom, electricity, heat, sound in some cases, just most
any energy, you excitethe electrons. The little buggers go into what
is called a higher energystate, they get a real buzz on.But, like most
erstwhile lovers, they tire after awhile and fall back totheir normal
energy state. that energy is not lost, when the electronsreturn to
"normal", a little teeny photon is given off. Photons
areelectromagnetic energy. If they are in certain wavelengths, they
arevisible light. If they are in other wavelengths, they are maybe
ultraviolet light, radiowaves or even x-rays.So, light comes from
excited electrons. In a fluorescent lamp, a littlefiliment glows
with the voltage from the wall. This produces a lot ofelectrons
buzzing around the inside of the tube. The inner surface of thetube
is coated with rare earth elements from the high numbers on
theperiodic table of elephants...elements, I mean. Those elements
glow whenthey get excited, so the fluorescent bulb glows. The sun
gives off light because of the thermonuclear reactions inside,
theyproduce so much heat that they also make light, and we
see.Spiritual light:This is the real light, physical light is nice,
but some of us cannot seeit and are none the worse off.Spiritual
light happens when something inside of us gets excited, like
theelectrons, but far more diffuse and impossible to pin down in an
experiment. This light floods the mind and fills the soul, it links us
to everythingthat exists because it is the same. Just as everyone who
sees a beautifulfull moon is linked in the seeing, all having
spiritual light are linked inan even closer manner.Good question, fun
to think about,Take good care,Dan
