Default Nuclear Power...

Dear List,

i'm wondering... how many here think that *if* the waste-disposal
issue could be dealt with (for example, sending used uranium and
other such products into outer space), perhaps nuclear power
generation is actually something of a good idea?

Atmospherically, it's a pretty 'clean' form of power generation...
and we now have the means at our disposal (if such means were really
utilized) to send the waste products off the planet (not into Earth
orbit!) and straight into deep space (there's enough space out there
to keep "dumping" for a hundred million years ;-).

The word is that Germany is pushing for a ban on nuclear power
plants, yet there is a proliferation of coal-based power plants
there, which produce some of the worst sorts of atmospheric
pollutants known.

Just curious as to any views on this...

Joy & Happiness,

Tim

Even if all the disposal problems are solved 100 percent, there is
alway a possibility of nuclear accidents. Human error, terrorist
attacks even wars that could cause another Chernoble disaster.

Solar is the way to go. IMO.
