Raja Yoga (2)
Based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda
Raja Yoga (2)
If you go to the fountain head of any religion you will find that it is
based on experience. Christ experienced certain truths, saw them, came in
contact with them and preached them to the world.Similarly in Buddhism, it
is Buddha's experience. So with the Hindus, in their books, the writers who
are called 'rishis' ( seers ) - experienced certain truths and these they
preach.
All religions at their source will have 'experience'.
Raja Yoga claims that if one person - one prophet can experience this truth
(God)
-- then so can all of us. Unless their experience has such a universal basis
it is worth very little. It makes a bold statement. - Unless we experience
these truths for ourselves - we can only describe ourselves as atheists or
agnostics at best.
Raja yoga literally means the 'Royal path'
It makes this 'Royal' claim. "Turn into prophets! Nothing less will do."
