Lord Krishna's hills being destroyed

What Srila Prabhupada always lectured - genuine Vaishnavas share the mercy they received with others and go out and preach. Nobdody in the Holy Dham of Vrindavan listened - "no, "Swamiji" is wrong here, very wrong, we are above, genuine uttama-adikaris, we dont distribute the nectar of bhaki-rasa, we keep it for ourselves."

Now, irony of fate. Since they dont go out to preach others come to Vrindavan in thousands. However, not to gain spiritual knowledge but for economic interests. Muslim mining companies, who do all day one thing, even supported by governmental thumbs up (Ram Janmabhoomi party), blasting off by dynamite the holy spots of Krishna's pastimes, like:

So far all protests via internet appeals end up with a short laugh by Muslim mining company chiefs. Just while reading this new dynamite loads blow off.

And Srila Prabhupada's statements about the actual "power" of the babajis of Radhakund proven 100%.

Krishna will have the last laugh. These Muslims have no idea what they're messing with. They are as barbaric as their christian counterparts, and they will be punished by Krishna. But of course, Vaisnavas and Hindus should pretend as if nothing is happening and that abrahmaic followers are angels. It is always good to be politically correct, eh?

seems like his movement is not able to solve that problem either. so... why criticize others for lack of power?

it is easy to criticize others. be careful though, because others can find plenty of reasons to criticize you too.

Journalism - reporting what's actually happening, like in this case destroying Vrindavan with dynamite, whatever the reason might be, is extremely demoniac, doesnt even has to be mentioned. Why call this critizism? That it had to come so far that a whole mining industry is being set up in the Dham with rascal governmental support shows clearly that things were overslept since years when the whole attack on Krishna's Pastime hills started and huge numbers of Muslim immigrants were sent to work in Vrindavan. Should we wait till the water of Radhakund is being used by non-Vaishnavas to clean their tamasic foodstuff? We might hear daily of bombs and killed soldiers in Iraq and think, what's the point, some little dynamite at Govardhan. If that's you - alright, but why attack campaigns to rough up present Iskconites as well, to stop the demolition of stones which were actually touched by Krishna's Lotusfeet?

What do you tell future generations of devotees who find at Vrindavan-forest a huge mine area, run by cow eating candalas?

Vaishnavas have at one point be an united family - may be some havent it realized yet, but the dynamite supply for Vrindavana's Muslim miners is surely build up in order to get the money for future Nobel prize winners. (Sir Alfredo Nobel=inventor of dynamite, http://nobelprize.org/nobel/alfred-nobel/biographical/life-work/)

It wasnt my intention to critizice, but to make people aware that Muslims not only officially destroyed the WTC but surely wouldnt hesitate one second to also blow up Vrindavan.

Islam is proven militant and to take up the policy of "let's wait&see" surely will cause the Brijbasis even being forced to leave Vrindavan. Indians are like that, for centuries they lived under foreign rule and still thought, we're wise. SB says no, King Pariksit didnt say, welcome kali, yes, please, here are my cows, do as you like. So called peacefulness when it comes to protect religious principles is to be rejected. This is sometimes misunderstood as critizism.

you may offend the 'nice vaisnavas' who believe that islam is a religion of peace. You're committing vaishnav aparadha by attacking muslims.

Anonymous: you may offend the 'nice vaisnavas' who believe that islam is a religion of peace. You're committing vaishnav aparadha by attacking muslims.

There're surely nice Vaishnavas among the Muslims - and Lord Chaitanya recruited quite some of those little rascals to chant the Holy Names, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Kishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare.

Media comments say, to call a thief a thief isnt really aparadha and calling these agressors mining mafia is ok:

"A wide scale activism is going to protect the hills of Braj which contain innumerable heritage spots connected to Krishna but are unfortunately being blasted out by the mining mafia duly supported by the Rajasthan Government."

India Journal, USA, Sep 16, 2005

“A wider afforestation of these hills would restore the ecological balance of the region, resulting in a correction of rainfall patterns, which would, in turn prevent the westward spread of the Rajasthan desert. Revenues can also be generated from the resulting forest wealth and pasturelands in the Braj region, which offer vast potential for eco-tourism and religious tourism." Economic Times, 12th January 2005

"Illegal mining is destroying Braj bhoomi, threatening heritage sites and disturbing ecological balance of the region regarded as the mythological setting for Krishnaleela."

The Times of India, 4th Feb. 2005

“Cattle have suffered immensely since the mining has chipped away at green tracts. Some of the landscape is fabled to have been the setting for the romance of the divine lovers Krishna and Radha, depicted in many art forms.” IANS May 4, 2005

“In a rare protest in the Braj region associated with Lord Krishna, a large number of villagers are holding a round-the-clock ``Harinaam Kirtan`` since June 3 to protest against large-scale quarrying on the sacred hills, lying in the ecologically fragile Taj trapezium zone of this district, in utter contempt of the Rajasthan High Court and Supreme Court orders.”

ZEE News, July 11th, 2005

“The sacred Braj hills known for the Radha-Krishna courtship are under threat from deforestation, particularly from miner mafia which is denuding the land of all its grandeur.” Deccan Herald, May 8th, 2005

"The mining activity which is going on in Deeg and Kaman tehsils of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan is being done by violating the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India", says Mr. MC Mehta, noted environmentalist and Supreme Court lawyer.

In a recently held seminar in the Constitution Club of Delhi on Brutal Destruction of Heritage Hills in Braj Mr. Mehta commented “The entire Braj region falls within the Taj Trapezium Zone where any kind of polluting activity which includes Mining and Stone crushing is totally banned. Whatsoever mining is happening in the region is clear cut contempt of the Supreme Court of India.”

Know the real Braj

Often, we ignore the fact that the transcendental pastimes of the Divine Couple Sri Radha Krishna Bhagwan were not performed in the famous temples, posh ashrams or guest houses of Braj-Vrindavan. They were rather performed in the forests, on the banks of river Yamuna, at the numerous Kunds and on the holy hills of Sri Braj Dham. Lord Krishna was the biggest environmentalist. He purified all the five elements of nature. His devotees must protect the environment of Braj.

Out of 48 beautiful forests connected to the Raas leela, only 3 are left in their natural form. Rest have been reduced into barren lands. Their size vary from 5 acres to 350 acres.

Out of over 1000 ancient beautiful Kunds, 80% have been filled with silt, their carved chhatris and ghats have broken down.

Out of 27 beautiful ghats of Yamuna at Vrindavan, only one is left. Rest have been encroached upon or smuggled out of the country. Yamuna is 10 million times more polluted than the tolerance limit.

Several heritage hills bearing footprints of Lord Krishna in Braj are being brutally blasted out by the stone mafia using dynamite.

Criticism or remorse alone won’t suffice and can’t serve the cause of Braj. The destruction of Braj has to be stopped with full force; by the application of mind, body, money, time, resources and power. The original face of the Braj has to be restored.

For the realization of the above mentioned objectives the Braj Rakshak Dal has been constituted

Braj Rakshak Dal is a non political, voluntary organization of Brajwasis, devotees of Shri Radha Krishna Bhagwan, Environmentalists, Activists, Media Persons and Conservationists committed to protect and restore the environment and rich cultural heritage of Shri Braj Dham

In Yajur Veda it is mentioned that whereever the cows roam and graze is Braj.

If these hills are developed as pasture lands for the cattle they would provide rich fodder and would thereby improve the economic condition of the villagers. The hills of Braj have a sloping area of around 72 sq. kms which translates into 17,800 acres. At an average cost of Rs 10,000 per acre these hills can be developed into pasture lands. Thus, with an investment of Rs 18 crore all the hills of Braj can be groomed into green pasture land. Out of this amount of 18 crore the majority chunk would be spent on human labour. Hence without destroying the hills tremendous employment would be generated.

According to the experts engaged by Braj Rakshak Dal one acre land produces around 7,200 kg of grass annually. Thus, the hills of Braj would provide around 1.3 lakh ton of grass. Even by the rate of Rs 1.5 per kg this much grass would earn a revenue of Rs 19 crore 22 lakhs annually.

It is reliably learnt that the Rajasthan government is getting only around 7 crore rupees in revenue from the mining of these hills. The project coordinator of Braj Rakshak Dal Mr. Raghav Mittal (B.Tech, M.Tech, IIT KGP) says, "It is clear that the mining of hills is not justified from even the economic considerations. If these hills are protected and developed as pasture lands then the economy of the region will get a major boost. "

Shri Ramesh Baba of Barsana, who has been crusading for the past 52 years, against vested interests, to protect the natural heritage of Braj, said, “A wider afforestation of these hills and their development as pasture land will would restore the ecological balance of the region resulting in the growth of dairy industry, which is the traditional occupation of the land of Gopal”.

Unfortunately the hazardous synthetic milk is being openly sold in Braj where millions of pilgrims come in the hope of getting pure milk of cows.

Eco Tourism

As As Braj falls within the golden triangle of Delhi, Agra Jaipur the entire region can be groomed as a happening eco-tourism destination. In the backdrop of these hills, Braj can offer a wonderful experience with its rich culture and vast heritage. Irony is that by paying peanuts as revenue the mine mafia is taking away a huge chunk of stone from the region causing irreparable loss.

But Vaishnavas are more intersted in being 'politically correct' than being 'factually correct.' Which means they are NOT interested in saving Braj but portraying an agreeable, nice guy image in order NOT to offend anyone. Such people cannot be saved.

before you think about saving others, make sure you are saved yourself. offending Brajabasis (the point I was making) is not helping you in saving yourself, nor is it helping you save the sacred hills.

it has nothing to do with a nice guy image. people like you have no image, and no name, hiding behind unsigned posts out of fear of responsibility. I sign my posts with my real name and stand behind them in my real life. you obviously do not read my posts if you think I'm after a nice guy image... lol!

Vishnu will take care of that. No problem.

offending Brajabasis (the point I was making) is not helping you in saving yourself, nor is it helping you save the sacred hills.***

Correct. But I didn't offend Brajabasis, and I do care about the sacred hills. I was blaming the supposedly 'Hindu' Indian govt. that does absolutely nothing to protect the hills. I wasn't blaming brajabasis.

it has nothing to do with a nice guy image***

Are you sure? Most Vaishnvas are interested in being nice, agreeable types, that's all. They are cowards and lack the ability to fight for Krishna's sake, even when his hills are being destroyed, when he is called satan etc. etc. Need I say more?

people like you have no image, and no name***

Thanks. I always try to be humble without any name or image.

you obviously do not read my posts if you think I'm after a nice guy image... lol!***

I wasn't referring to you, and you may or may not belong to that category. But most Vaishnvas are after the nice guy image, they have no balls to fight for Krishna. There are no kshatriyas left in our society, and hence the multiplication of problems.

real kshatriyas are smart and just. they dont simply fight and rule by the might of their arms. fight is the last recourse. see Mahabharata. India (and the rest of the world) is ruled by greedy vaishyas, while stupid sudras just stand there confused...

as to the subject of protecting sacred hills. the greed and corruption at all levels of Indian government (and society in general) is obvious. that is the real culprit. too bad the local and international Vaishnavas are busy proclaiming the greatness of their own parivar and arguing with each other instead of working together towards a common good.

maybe the sacred hills are taken by Krishna, because we do not deserve to behold them? when children bicker and squabble, the father takes away nice things from them as a punishment and a lesson.

Thanks Kulapavana, just found text below that forum efficiency is a big problem in general.

Btw, what kind of minerals are those miners actually looking for in Vrindavan dham?

How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

1 to move it to the Lighting section.

2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section.

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames.

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct.

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum.

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum.

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty.

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's.

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group.

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?".

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs".

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Court Decision on Illegal Mining in Braja

BY: STAFF CORRESPONDENT

http://harekrsna.com/sun/news/01-06/news285.htm

Jan 5, NEW DELHI (THE HINDU) — The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Centre, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana and the Archaeological Survey of India on a petition seeking to curb illegal mining in the Braj region.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice Y. K. Sabharwal, Justice C. K. Thakker and Justice R. V. Raveendran issued notice on a public interest petition filed by three eminent persons of the Braj area alleging that inaction on the part of the States was posing serious threat to the ecology and unbroken socio-cultural heritage of the region which was more than 5,000 years old.

The petitioners, Neelambar Baba and two others, submitted that the Braj region was spread over three States surrounding Mathura and Vrindavan and was inhabited by spotted deer, sambar and blue bull. The illegal mining going on in this region had affected the environment and posed a threat to the habitats. As a result, the 5,000-year-old heritage hills were being neglected though they were close to Keoladeo National Park on the one side and the Sariska Tiger Reserve on the other.

The petitioners pointed out that the Goverdhan Parbat region had valuable flora and fauna and this region faced serious threat due to large-scale encroachments, deforestation and destruction of sacred bodies known as `kunds' located at Giriraj Goverdhan. They sought a direction to the authorities to take steps to stop illegal mining and to take steps for preservation and protection of the environment.
