I had this devotee going crazy when he read this lol. It does seem from this that Maha-vishnu is source of Krishna. Is it a misprint?

SB 10.89.58: [Lord Maha-Vishnu said:] I brought the brahmana's sons here because I wanted to see the two of you, My expansions, who have descended to the earth to save the principles of religion. As soon as you finish killing the demons who burden the earth, quickly come back here to Me.

SB 10.89.59: Although all your desires are completely fulfilled, O best of exalted personalities, for the benefit of the people in general you should continue to exemplify religious behavior as the sages Nara and Narayana.

SB 10.89.60-61: Thus instructed by the Supreme Lord of the topmost planet, Krishna and Arjuna assented by chanting om, and then they bowed down to almighty Lord Maha-Vishnu. Taking the brahmana's sons with them, they returned with great delight to Dvaraka by the same path along which they had come. There they presented the brahmana with his sons, who were in the same infant bodies in which they had been lost.

Mahavisnu is the source of creation, the original of the mahatattwa. Through Him, all the incarnations of the supreme emanate.

However, prior to Mahavisnu's laying on the sesanaga incarnation of Lord Balarama upon the causal ocean, Krsna and Balarama are playing in goloka vrndavan.

Acintya-inconceivable, meaning the mental capacity of an individual cannot understand.

Think of Johnny Depp directing "The Johnny Depp Story". As director, he casts two actors to play his parents, and another actor to play himself as a youth. But he can step in any time, because he is Johnny Depp. He can walk out of the studio, all the cameras stop, the actors go back to their lives, but he is still johnny depp. Crude example, but the only thing I could come up with, and I like johhnny depp movies, all of them, except the one where hes a book dealer and messes with the devil. I heard his latest is not to his standard, but all the rest are good movies.

We must remind people that while Lord Krsna who appears on earth is indeed God, He also exists forever in His own realm. So when we say "Krsna" we address both, but more so Govindam adi purusam.

Can't wait for gurukuli, Radha Mitchell and Johnny Depp! Woman on fire. It seems the movie Finding Neverland has been out for almost a week, opening to incredible reviews!

Hare Krishna

The purports describe the true situation here

http://srimadbhagavatam.com/10/89/57/en1

and here

http://srimadbhagavatam.com/10/89/58/en1

or http://srimadbhagavatam.com/10/89/62/en1.

Just as Nanda maharaja cannot be "trusted" when he says that Sri Krishna is just an ordinary being and not the Supreme Lord, these statements appearing to be contradictory cannot be "trusted".

Mahak

Ok so answer this please,

So your saying the Krishna who comes is expansion of Karanadakasahyi Vishnu, {pamamatma} it does say in Bhagavatam that all Incarnations come from this Vishnu.

So if above is true that means no wonder people think Vishnu is source of Krishna right?

So please try to answer above questions they are for 2 devotees now.

Ps I was like to this devotee if you want pray to Maha-vishnu whos stopping you? In Vrindavana nobody knows Krishna is Surpreme, they just like little old {old ahaha} Krishna. Get your head around that.

"You are" can be contracted to You're; just like "do not" contracts into don't. The apostrophe shows the place where some letters have been skipped, as in "You're happy when you chant on your new beads". In Canada, those two highlighted words are even pronounced differently from one another.

I forget about this book.

__

The Vishnu incarnation, although master of the modes of goodness within each universe, is in no way in touch with the influence of material nature. Although Vishnu is equal to Krishna, Krishna is the original source. Vishnu is a part, but Krishna is the whole. This is the version given by Vedic literatures. In Brahma-samhita the example is given of an original candle which lights a second candle. Although both candles are of equal power, one is accepted as the original, and the other is said to be kindled from the original. The Vishnu expansion is like the second candle. He is as powerful as Krishna, but the original Vishnu is Krishna. Brahma and Lord Siva are obedient servants of the Supreme Lord, and the Supreme Lord as Vishnu is an expansion of Krishna.

So this is specifically describing Vishnu {garbodakasayi vishnu}. It doesn't state about Maha-Vishnu. Also so it means Krishna is source of Paramatma since Garbodakasayi Visnu is source of Karanadakasayi Vishnu. Do you see? Or is this talking about all Vishnu's. It says Vishnu is purusha-AVATARA. I am asking because sure devotees would spot this.

Ps. Teachings of Lord Chaitanya what a Book.

Hare Krishna and dandavat pranam

"since Garbodakasayi Visnu is source of Karanadakasayi Vishnu."

The other way round; Karanodakasayi Vishnu (or Maha-Vishnu) is the first Purusha Avataara from whom all the universes emerge.

See http://vedabase.net/sb/1/3/2/en1

It is explained precisely in Brahma-Samhita. See starting from here http://brahmasamhita.com/5/10/en through to

SO..

Ksirodakasayi Vishnu is Paramatma,

Thx for the links. Still its confucing to explain this to people who ARE devotees already. Even I am perplexed.

So to intrepretate this verse means that Maha-vishnu because of Pure Transencedence is not seeing any Difference between Himself and Krishna.

Hare Krishna

It is described in the purport of SB 10.89.57

Lord Maha-Vishnu appeared before Krishna and Arjuna as bhuma, the supremely opulent one, and as parameshthinam prabhuh, the Lord of multitudes of Brahmas ruling over millions of universes. With solemn authority He spoke in such a way as to bewilder Arjuna, in obedience to Sri Krishna's intention. His smile hinted at His private thoughts, which Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti has revealed for our benefit: "My dear Krishna, by Your desire I will describe My superiority, even though I am Your expansion. At the same time, however, I will subtly imply in My statements the supreme position of Your beauty, character and power and the fact that You are the source from which I emanate. Just see how clever I am -- that in front of Arjuna I am confidentially divulging My true identity as nondifferent from You."

Also SB 10.89.62: "Having seen the domain of Lord Vishnu, Arjuna was totally amazed. He concluded that whatever extraordinary power a person exhibits can only be a manifestation of Sri Krishna's mercy."

The Teachings of Lord Chaitanya is a perfect book, even the wonderful drawings by an old friend and teacher. The stories of the millions of brahmas, Mgrari the hunter, so many stories. I remember whn this book became available, and it was indeed unique. Even had a classic string bookmark. It is my most valued possession.

Hard to note this book as srila prabhupadas greatest hit, because all his books are great hits. But the fact remains that this book has been read by me more than any of the others, and I have found wonderful treasures in this book over the years, like an old advertizement of Srila Prabhupada appearing with Moby Grape, Jefferson Airplane, and the grateful Dead. I found a rare photo that was lost for years of Srila Prabhupada in his youth. Once, when I was really at the end of my rope financially, I even found two One Hundred dollar bills in there.

But the story of ramananda raya speaking with Lord Chaitanya is the greatest treasure of them all.

Be nice, pankaja das. You dont deserve such a whompin. Even us oldies who may clear things up a bit are still bound by the inconceivability of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
