Question about being straightforward.

If we are straight forward, sometimes we might end up hurt others. My Question is: how to be straightforward without hurting others.

When we are compassionate and try to help others, some people may try to exploit us because of our nature. How to have a compassionate and helping nature without getting exploited.

Siksastakam verse 3

3) One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and should be ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly.

Since your always meant to be chanting, the above verse applys to almost every circumstance in your life, including avoidance of Vaishnava-aparadha. Lets see what forum members say...

"how to be straightforward without hurting others"

limit your straightforwardness to answering THEIR questions alone. dont volounteer stuff that can hurt others. and you can be both honest AND gentle.

"How to have a compassionate and helping nature without getting exploited"

allow yourself to be exploited only once per person... /images/graemlins/wink.gif your kindness will still be abused now and then but it will happen less often
