We live in a world addicted to petroleum

I dont think it is such a big problem. You can easily make liquid hydrocarbon fuels (gas and diesel) from coal. this proces is more expensive than current crude prices but it is getting close to economic viability. World coal reserves are huge and would easily last 2-3 hundred years of projected level of maximum use. then there is biomass to energy route, still more expensive option. and we have not even touched on nuclear energy options, using fuel from de-commisioned nukes.

all these "doomsday" energy scenarios are based on skewed, poor science. the real threat to the world is varna-sankara, or unwanted and unqualified population.

Many fuels whose fame & distribution are being deliberately suppressed are pollution-free.

When you see a petroleum station what do you see?

When you see oil drills and wells what do you see?

Before answering please reread 2nd Canto Chapter 7.

ps - Varna-sankara can only be avoided by proper education which petroleum companies are hardly fond of funding.

Quite the contraire, they further their fuel sale by illicit sex motif.
