Does Krishna mind, smoking herb, and being "high"?

Krsna wants all living beings to love Him. No need for a list of all the other things we can get involved in that are not love for Krsna. If its not love of Krsna then it won't satisfy us. Money, drugs, sex, knowledge, renunciation, mystic siddhi's all fall short.

 

A better question might be does it work? That is does ganja bring you satifaction.

 

Even if you see through it but can't stop quite yet then chant Hare Krsna anyway stoned or not.

Cultivating plants is one of the 64 transcendental arts. Ganja smoking does not matter, as long as you don't use it to "enhance" your Krsna consciousness, for then you rely on the ganja, instead of Krsna. It will kill your faith.

The gurus all say that it is not necessary to change your occupation, but to change your consciousness. If you are a smoker, become a Krsna conscious smoker and the smoking may disappear.

If you are a thief, become a Krsna conscious thief, whore, king, farmer, priest, whatever. Krsna is the focus, not the smoking, whoring or thieving. In Dwarka, it are the thieves and whores who greeted Krsna first and He was very pleased.

Stop worrying about petty little things like smoking and focus on Krsna. Pundarik Vidyanidhi also smoked hookahs, yet was endorsed by Mahaprabhu as guru.

This does not mesan imitate, but don't worry if you do smoke, but focus on Krsna.

Realizing the last post is meant to encourage others, but we must accept that smoking weed is looked upon seriously in Vedic literatures, and by Prabhupada. Probably people start to smoke since it is a perverted reflection of elevated conscsiousnes (meaning 'backwards'). There is some initial 'lift' or seeing the world differently. Some of that may really be due to intense relaxtion than actually acheiving higher thinking due to the drug (THC - which is fat soluable and hard to get out of the liver even after decades). In a very relaxed state of mind, smokers can then allow themselves to think of that which they formerly were too tense, or too closed off to, so on and so forth. Soon that gets fuzzy and the smoker really becomes more unconscious. Weed puts a person in the mode of ignorance. What we think of at the time of death, that is the place we go to. The risk is also there of returning in an animal body, or lower like a roach or ant, due to intoxication. We need to practice thinking of Krishna often and always. If one has a mound of dirt in their hand, they must first let go of that before able to put the sweet in their hand. Krishna is a better high than any drug!

Krishna doesn't mind. He doesn't smoke Himself, In matter of fact He asked Lord Shiva to drink halahala poison because he could digest it.

 

Question is - can you digest it? Most man are go from ganja stright to a gashish. Nobody thinks this way but everyone ends up there.

I don't know that we can speculate on Krisna's mind, but we all know that Prabhupada minded it and was very strict that no one could be doing this and be initiated. Get high and take next birth as a roach or ant or something that karmically it is ok to get high. (Ants get high off sugar.)
