Haribol !

Whats the right time for God to come down to us ?

I have been thinking about this for such a loong time , because i expected him to make me realise that he is there for me. I wanted him to fill the blank space between.

Drowpathi when treated very badly in the Dhuriyodhana palace, started calling Krishna for help , Dhuchodhana started pulling her saree , she holded her saree with her two hands and called krishna . She cried loud but for some reason krishna didnt came quickly to save her. She was holding her saree with her two hands for loong time and Dhuchodhana had enough strength to pull it easliy.

She lost her will power that she can save herself , she didnt cared about next, she raised her both hands above her head and called " Hey parandhama " , she surrended totally to krishna , remembering that whatever going to happen cannot be stopped by her will power.

Next second he was there lending helping hand to her.

God came to save when She lost her will and surrended totally.

--------

The Gajendra elephant after getting pulled by crocodile , struggled very hard to come out of the pond , but crocodile strength was enough to keep gajendra still.

Gajendra struggled for 1000 years with that crocodile and lost all its strength and will power. When it felt that his will power cannot stop whatever going to happen . It raised its trunk and shouted " Aadhimulamea pls save me !"

The next second Narayana came flying in his favourite Garudan to save Gajendra.

God came to save when Gajendra lost its will and surrended totally.

----------

When you loose your own will and think that there is nothing can happen at ur own will and only he can help you , Then expect him to be there for you !

And there is no history that he has dissopinted a true devotee who has surrended totally.

these stories are meant to bring the reader to a better

understanding of god, what you imply , that when you stop trying to use your own will to do things, and depend

on god , then god will do them for you, is not what those stories are trying to teach.

They tell us that god is the controller, the good or bad that is coming to you in your life can not be changed

by your effort.

Like Draupadi, she tried to stop the aggresors, but

she couldn't, that was left in gods hands, that realization , that our future regardless of our

endeavor,is in god's hands, is the lesson.

not that if we stop trying to do this or that, God will

help us.

No, the import is that all material activity that one performs to gain enjoyment is not going to change

what god has allready planned for you, such an endeavor

like animals, spending all your energy on eating ,sleeping, mating, will not give you what you seek,

those things are allready coming to you based on past karma, you cannot change them one way or another.

the devotee who gives up trying to escape from

material misery, and instead leaves that up to God,

will find that all that energy was wasted,

trying to make plans for enjoying this world

without consideration of the supreme lords

plan .

that devotee, who surrenders to God,leaving

the world of exploitation for the world of

devotion, will find that god will take

care of all the sense enjoyment that the soul

was struggling and working for.

Gajendra is the soul and the crocodile is maya. An elephant can normally defeat a crocodile easily. But because the elephant was not at home in the water (material world) like a crocodile is, he struggled for 1000 years and was nearing total exhaustion. Totally helpless, reaching down with his giant trunk and offering a flower and prayer to God, Gajendra was saved.

Bhakti can defeat maya in this world, whereas even the strength of the greatest elephant is powerless.

Thereafter, because of being pulled into the water and fighting for many long years, the elephant became diminished in his mental, physical and sensual strength. The crocodile, on the contrary, being an animal of the water, increased in enthusiasm, physical strength and sensual power.

When the King of the elephants saw that he was under the clutches of the crocodile by the will of providence and, being embodied and circumstantially helpless, could not save himself from danger, he was extremely afraid of being killed. He consequently thought for a long time and finally reached the following decision.

The other elephants, who are my friends and relatives, could not rescue me from this danger. What then to speak of my wives? They cannot do anything. It is by the will of providence that I have been attacked by this crocodile, and therefore I shall seek shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is always the shelter of everyone, even of great personalities.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead is certainly not known to everyone, but He is very powerful and influential. Therefore, although the serpent of eternal time, which is fearful in force, endlessly chases everyone, ready to swallow him, if one who fears this serpent seeks shelter of the Lord, the Lord gives him protection, for even death runs away in fear of the Lord. I therefore surrender unto Him, the great and powerful supreme authority who is the actual shelter of everyone.

SrI Sukadeva GosvAmI continued: Thereafter, the King of the elephants, Gajendra, fixed his mind in his heart with perfect intelligence and chanted a mantra which he had learned in his previous birth as Indradyumna and which he remembered by the grace of KRSNa.

The King of the elephants, Gajendra, said: I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Person, VAsudeva [oM namo bhagavate vAsudevAya]. Because of Him this material body acts due to the presence of spirit, and He is therefore the root cause of everyone. He is worshipable for such exalted persons as BrahmA and Siva, and He has entered the heart of every living being. Let me meditate upon Him.

Most people think their minds will save them, will capture God for them. Maybe after 1000 years with the crocodile, our minds will finally surrender to the unknowable Sri Krsna.

Until then, the crocodile of the mind will keep us imprisoned in an empty world of words and guesses, idioms and ego.

everything is happening by gods plan ... but he has also given us free will to choose.Just like when we are young

and learning to walk we try to walk on our own under the watchfull eye of our parents. But when immediatly loose balance only our parents are there to save us.

Hariharan ki Jai !

You have said excatly what i wanted to say in this thread, i was using different words , but my intension was to say the same thing ,being tamilian , i have read all most all good books about him , only in tamil . So my spelling in english or trying to pronounce in english or the words itslef might have gone wrong and i apologies to everyone for this.

like cockraoch, i have come loong way from tamili medium student to network engineer who can speak and support europe people.

But still my basic english knowledge is very very less.

i am still in the process of learning.

nowadays i login to the mail , very eagerly not to see any personal mails but to see the responses from other for my postings. i never felt soo eager to learn and accept things.

Spirtuality and Hinduism is like a ocean . and i know my life is not enough to swim in that , or go to the deep and pick some pearls , atleast i wanted to become is a observer who can see the people swimming, and who can ask the experince of those people who had went in , and who were standing in the waves.

Haribol !

"god helps those who help themselves" ??

This is 100 % true , but what one should understand is

we can only perform the karma ( action ) and leave the results to GOD. That is dont expect results should be like this or that , becuase that is unlikely that the results will be what you expected.

There is a saying in Tamil

" karmaavay sei palanai edhirpakkadhey " which means do the duty and dont expect the results , but how can one do that ? , this mentality will not come easliy , we all expect in one way or other, and we get dissopointed if things doesnot happen to what we expected.

Every principle is given to make the human mind free from worldly troubles and to reach GOD.

So do the Duty and leave the rest to God. he knows whats best for you !

But doing duty is important , when you have done evverything you can and finally feel that he is the one who can help , then trust him to 200% he will be waiting in your doorsteps to help you.

Please tell me what does HARIHARAN mean?

I am doing a research on Judism right now. I found out that Jews had a hidden Trinity like our Hindu HOLY Trinity of BRAHMA, VISHNU AND SHIVA.

The actuall trick that they has used is this:

TERAH was mentioned to be the father of 3 sons.

If you closely looked at the meaning of what

Terah means, it meant TRIO.

TRIO as in Three aspected or saguna BRAHMAN who manifested as 3 DIVINE DEITIES of B-V-S or Trimurti.

TERAH, being masking BRAHMAN concept here,

now

If you looked at ABRAHM (That was his first son, HIndu version of BRAHMA or a Brahmarishi here in this case), you will find out that the letters of ABRAHM if flipped around makes BRAHMA visible.

ABRAHM~BRAHMA.

Are you w me so far?

okay. Then take HARAN, his second son and it is nothing but HARIHARAN...the VISHNU aspect of our Trinity.

HARAN got killed by ABRAHM followers mainly because ABRAHM or BRAHMA was so full of Ahankar and pride or so aggressively domineering. he was infatuated w his own knowledge so as to speak.

NAREN is HARAN in Sanskrit. NAREN got killed, so Hindus very rarely use the term NAREN up until they got to a safe place in India where they once again started thier vaishanavism w LORD CHAITANYAJi.

Now look at NAHOR, the third character from Terah's family.

Terah, by the way was a saint or god like man, who worshipped many idols and ABRAHM was rebellious and wanted to get rid of idolatry. He ditched his own father terah or BRAHMAN.

Nahor is nahur or snake in Tamil. Who wears snake around the neck? LORD SHIVA.

nahor's followers who spoke hebrew went to Nagercoil and then from there or not too far from that place is Kaladi where our great Adhi Sankara came about.

What is the point to all these?

The jews under the leadership of ABRAHM discriminated and harassed idol worshippers and stole our MONOTHEISTIC religion. Hinduism is never polytheistic at all. Trust me on that one.

"Hinduism is MONOTHEISTIC POLYMORPHIC RELIGION", which means There is only ONE GOD, whose potentials of expressions can never be limited. BRAHMAN is our GOD and BRAHMAN expressed in many ways thru three main trinity Deities for our physical world.

any avatar of VISHNU or HARIHARAN or NAREN is same as SHIVA OR BRAHMA. Of course, SHIVA And BRAHMA do not have any avatars like VISHNU as SHIVA's and BRAHMA's roles are much different than that of VISHNU.

Creation and destruction aspect of our lives does not take that much of time or energy or funds, but sustenance of a life born into this world does.

So jews stole our MONOTHEISM and tried to hijack hinduism, by persecuting them in mesopotemian times. There are many evidences to show that hindus indeed lived in mesopotemia first for a very long time.

I fyou have any questions on this please post. But please post a reply for me. Thanks.

Actually we don't lose any will at all! Here from I read so far in this incident is that DRAUPADI was just taking a spiritual break. May be SHE was silently meditating upon LORD KRSNA and knew that LORD KRSNA WILL COME OUT AND HELP HER. Also to show to the audience of evils that SHE IS with LORD KRSNA who will never let HER DOWN.

The process of waiting to see something to happen is also part of each person's will.

All karmas are free will based only. To be or not to be!

All choices are based upon free will of each individual personhood only. your ATMAN or your personal deity gives you that strength to hang on to the very last minute. LORD KRSNA never lets anyone down. LORD KRSNA IS MAHAVISHNU who will sustain those WHO BELIEVE and being patient is a great virtue that LORD KRSNA saw in DRAUPADI.

I hope this helps a bit.

HARI OM! MAY LORD VISHNU/MAHALAKSHMI bless you all today.

Hari--Refers to The Supreme Personality of Godhead Shree Hari or Narayana

Haran---refers to His another form Shiva..

Thats why there is a saying in tamil that

Haranum Harium Onru, Ariyathavar Kannil Mannu

Hari and Haran are one and the same and who does not realise this are living in delusion and ignorance.

Shyam

I thought Hariharan was a name of Ayyappa Swamy...

Ayyappa Swami is the son of both Vishnu and Shiva. Vishnu -being the Mohini avatar.

Do I misunderstand? The will is the boundary between I, myself and every other soul. If I lose my will I merge into Brahman. The will is integral to the soul.

Dovetail the will I can undersand. Surrendering the will doesn't enatil becoming the Supreme.

I haven't read the whole thread so i apologize if this has already been addressed.

I did a search on the word NARA and this is what I came up with.

OT of bible shows this info.

"Ge 11:26 - And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and ***Haran.

Ge 11:27 - Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

Ge 11:28 - And **Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees"

HARAN got killed perhaps because ABRAHM was trying to push his AHANKAR "AM I BRAHMAN" kind of MahaVakya over HARAN.

BhajhaGovindham is actually directed to BRAHMA (ABRAHM here) by SHIVA (Hibru speaking hindu of "Nahor" devotee) follower ADHI S, mainly to tell us history over here.

NARA:The ORiginal Eternal man (was killed here, when they killed HARAn).

ABRAHM=BRAHMA

HARAN=HARIHARAN or NAREN or NARA.(bible also cited LOT being the son of HARAN in Sodom and Gomorrah!

NAHOR=Shiva or Snake wearing GOD.

Please post your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Its very much true that when we are totally helpless, God comes and helps us when we surrender to Him totally.

At the same time, howmuch ever one prays to God, it does not mean we can do something to satisfy our desires and pleasures and when we happen to face the consequence, God will come and help us and save us from what we did.

Draupathi was pathivritha and an ardent devotee of Narayana/Shree Krishna and she was really helpless and it was totally not her fault out of which she was insulted. So when she was helpless, and when she surrendered Herself, Krishna came to Her rescue.

IN real life too, when we keep ourselves straightforward in our actions and not against religious values and moral values, then when we are in trouble and call Him, yes we practically feel His help.

On the contrary, if we give way or vent to our physical pleasures and desires and keep aside God for a while to satisfy ourselves and then call God after facing a frustration due to our own actions, I dont think God will come and help at that time unless one totally corrects their actions for ever and remain good after that.

Karma is nothing but repurcursions of our own actions. For what we do, we face the result, IF we keep our mind all the time with God, Yes He never lets you down, If we keep the mind on and off for our convenience, then He also comes in the form of trouble as said is Bagavatham and Narayaneeyam and reminds us about HIM that unless we fix our mind and also actions on HIM, dedicated to HIM following the path He said in GITA.
