talasiga 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2001 PRESENT I have a present for you I don't know what it is If only you would receive me I would know what to give Surely, receiving does not rest on need For even as the hive overflows with honey the bees are out with the flowers - perhaps this is some pagan rite of power That friendship feeds on and on way beyond the logic of need I have a present for you I don't know what it is and I am dying because of this If only I knew you needed it I could give it and be freed Perhaps giving does not rest on need For I have seen summer rain fall on an angry sea Even as flooded rivers fed it - surely, this is nature's song of plenty That supply flows on and on and exceeds the demands of greed I have a present for you I don't know what it is but I am blinded by it If only you would open it I would see again and live.
