Hi All,

I have found that many devotees of Krishna are using this site very frequently. From their answers, I have come to know a lot about some of them but not all. I would really love it if you all could provide more details about you like the details of works you do, your whereabouts. Also, if you do not mind, please tell some memorable (good or bad) parts of your life. Please do not take it wrong. I do not want to enchroach upon anybody's personal life. If somebody feels that I should not have posted this topic, let me know and I will sincerely apologize. I have posted this only because I got a sudden and strong urge to know all you people.

Hare Bol from vancouver b.c. in the far reaches of the western world. I think your inquiry of the devotees that post here is nice. Krishna devotees are known to be very personable and not impersonal, But I would imagine they don't like to talk about themselves and will immediately redirect you to the Lotus feet of SRI KRISHNA. I hope others would put aside there great humility and discribe there victories of spirit over matter. personally I was an impersonalist until I had a vision of Srila Prabhupada in 1978. To me this confirms He is my Guru present or not. the Guru is always present. maybe the devotees can discribe the first time they ever chanted: HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE.

Hi,

I will talk only those things about me which are related to devotional work. From my childhood days, I have always been interested in the vast literature of India. I was always amazed by the vast knowledge of our great ancestors. In fact, I always used to read about Lord Rama. I understand that both Rama and Krishna are same. But, still, I have always been very much a devotee of Lord Rama. I used to read stories about him at that age when others used to read Comics etc.

Jaya Radha Damodara!

My name is Vinod-bihari dasa, I am a 21 year old Computer Science student at the local university here in The Netherlands (Holland). I am studying for IT networking specialist. Still 1,5 year to go.

I came in contact with Srila Prabhupada when I was 13 years old. I got attracted by Lord Gauranga and playing mridanga.

Now I am very active in realizing a great project here. We are going to build a new temple called Ayodhya Mandir...guess Who the presiding deities will be? :)

Our Krsna consciouss youth here is also doing very good. We are very preaching very nicely spreading Lord Caitanya's message.

owh yeah...my most favorite personality is Sri Nityananda Rama Prabhu, I just love Him.

I also am totally crazy about Lord Balarama.

Well that's it...I think.

Hi Animesh,

I am a 28 yr old, and was into spirituality, philosophy bigtime for about 10 years. Then I read UG about an year back, and the whole thing was over for me. It was not easy to let go of all the 'Spiritual Load' that I had amassed. It required too much of courage and intelligence than I had. But thankfully it happened.

Now I am cool.

I recommend www.ugkrishnamurti.org

Haribol, 53 years dying here, retired from Govt Service with US Navy (civilian). Initiated in 1973 by Srila Prabhupada. Became a "devotee" in 1968 when I refused to tolerate a friend who made fun of the Hare Krsnas. His friendship was rejected in favor of the best friends one can have.

I have too many gurus to name, but these folks saw fit to let me in on the nectar, so I owe them all everything.

46 years old, switch assembly operator, living in very small town in North Carolina. Have been increasingly drawn to Krishna Conscious,by a dear friend I had met on the net, after we had many conversations about his religion and being a vegetarian. Not that I can be swayed that easily, but it made me stop and take a good hard look at myself, and I decided that I wanted to follow a path to bring me closer spiritually with God. I also started to think more about the pain and suffering animals had to endure, in order for me to have their flesh on my plate. That was not a pleasant thought at all. I am, but one person, but, even so, that is just a little pain and suffering some poor animal won't have to endure because of me. Sorry, got carried away there. That is probably not what anyone wants to know about me. Anyway through reading and now listening to the Bhagavad-Gita on CD,the posts on this site,a few friends I have met on this site, and exchanged emails with privately, and a few of my friends that I speak with occasionally through emails and on instant messenger,I am learning more everyday. A few short months ago,I would not have ever thought of chanting the mantra.I didn't even know what it was, then. For now,I will continue to practice it often. It may take some time before I ever get up to 16 rounds, but I will practice, anyway. As as some of these people who know me, on this site, can tell you,I am full of questions needing answers..I am thankful that I have friends that do not mind my lengthy emails and numerous questions..Afterall, I am but a beginner..Hare Krishna, Debbie

Just thought I'd tell you, I just sent you an email. Hope you got it.And about being fifty soon, I am not that many years off myself..But I will surely listen out on May 26 for that horrid scream. In all honesty, though,I think age is just a number. It is how you feel and how you decide to go at life, that makes the difference..For me, I feel pretty good physically, but I know if I could get about eighty pounds off this 5'2-1/2" body,I would feel alot better..But that's another story, that I could use some help on,big time.

Hope to hear from you soon.. Debbie

haribol, kailasa, I knew we had something in common. I have met some of your sub captains, and there is not much difference in us or ussr, the water is supreme, not countries.

I stay away for now, awaiting civilian redress.

reading the responses, it seems my body is really older than most here. am born near dwarika, raised in vaishnav family tradition, studying scriptures, and meetin/ reading about saints and swamis and visiting temples is my activity since childhood. have couple of ms degrees in science and ee. sri prabhupada is my guru, however i have some disagreements with him (but not about what he preaches (KC).) still i love him.

i make efforts to expose the brabaric ideology that terrorises the world since its beginning in the desert.

we the vedic people have suffered the most from these barbarians for 1000+ years. so i try to unite all against this enemy of peace. i pray that all HK's and hindus unite.

the time is to act according to gita at this time of terrorism. other debates and sadhana can be carried in peace times.

would you agree?

jai sri krishna! -madhav
