There are lot of people who are true brahmins and are members of this forum and have crossed the oceans. How can you say a true brahmin will not cross the Sea. we have to change according to the necessities.

read better, i do not say that a true brahmin (=one who sees brahman) do not cross ocean..

i say that he do not cross the ocean for sense gratification

and a true brahmin does nothing for gratification, but everything for his and others' spiritual enlightement

for this purpose he can cross the ocean, the space, the universe as Sri NaradaMuni does

how many have read gita just once?

how many of them have understood gita proprly?

how many of them are living per gita?

how many of them are helping other grow spiritually?

why they think they are brahmanas?

Nice reply.

The fact is, it is the falling down of brahmins into materialism, that hinduism is getting eroded very fast.

Maadhavji,

I understand your angusih on today's bhramins.True bhramin's live Back in India earning 700 to 800 rs a month and praying god for the welfare of the world. They are true bhramins.

I have seen many bhramin priests in India. In a temple in our village the bhramin priest is paid 500 to 600 a month. He has 2 daughters and he doesnt know how they will get married with his income. But he says that he defenitely will not leave the temple and is proud to be a priest.

His 2 daughters got married in well to do families and live happily now.

Rangamma, the goddess whom he worshipped daily did not let him down.

He is a true bhramin.

Even If he crosses sea still he still is a true bhramin.

crossing sea is not the criteria to determine bhraminism.Prabupadha crossed seas.was he not a bhramin?

As long as you dont leave the bhramana dharma, you are a bhramin.

once you start eating sudhra food(eggs, meat) and leave away priesthood, you are nomore a bhramin.

whether you cross sea or dont-doesnt matter.

I request all hindus to help to true bhramins who suffer in temples.

There is no better deed than that.To satisfy needs of a person who takes care of god daily, who talks to god daily is the greatest punya.

please do that.

The sad fact is, revenue from the temples, go to maintain mosques, churches, and to the pockets of the corrupt politicians and officials.

My teacher is a true Brahmin,They also own a temple. He has been offered a post in Russia. But he refused to take up. the only reason he gave me was that they are not supposed to cross the ocean.
