Acharyas dont deal with social problems. Social reformers take care of that.

You are way off from sAstrAs dear. One who is pefect attains His nature.

Show me one convincing case.

Real dangers go only when we do that. A bonafide would teach the truth and act likewise. How can that cause any danger ?

Pl. explain. Does marriage hymns talk about wife being burnt when husband dies ?

I am sorry for not phrasing the sentence correctly. In the funeral hymns of Rk veda, there is no suggestion of Sati. In fact, I have read that in one hymn the widow is asked to choose whoever she wants after the funeral is over. I am yet to locate that Rk though.

All works written after the Vedas and Upanishads are regarded as Smritis. These also include Puranas, Shastras and Sutras.

Therefore NO, the MANUSMRITI is not a part of the Vedas at all!

if you are a hindu and care for hindus and hinduism or vaishnavism, then please read gita only. that is sufficient for all the guidiance in this time.

manu smriti was never a book of law in practice as saria is in some islamic countries.

yes, the hindus did malpractice hinduism, and that is unfortunate, but it is in the past and now the hindus want to practice it correctly.

so, no need to harp on manu smriti if you are a hindu or hindu's friend.

jai sri krishna!
