I was in Yucatan the first time I tasted cilantro.  I thought it was just awful,

my friend went crazy for it.  As soon as we laned in L.A. she bought a bunch and

ate the whole thing with salad dressing.  I couldn't believe it.

I had to try using it, I made salsa and I thought it tasted great but I couldn't

get the scent off my hands.  Cilantro soon grabbed hold of me.  I toss it into

soups and stews, I always have a bunch in the fridge.

I had a salad for lunch in a restaurant today, and the description of it

including fresh cilantro. One of the reasons I ordered it was because of the

comments on this board. Yum, I thought. it was an " Asian " salad. Well, I had it

and it was pretty good, but at first I didn't taste the cilantro, and then

BINGO! it hit. And I was, for a moment or two, transported into a realm of

bliss. :-) Cindi

honest, I am so glad I joined this board. I love the conversations! It may sound

silly, but I never would have thought to put cilantro fresh into a salad. Now I

will. (I would just use in in recipes when called for...) Even though it was in

my salad today (also bought at TGIF's), it took this post to make me realize I

can put cilantro in a salad at home! Oh happy days!!
