Over the years, though, as the oldest kids got older, we had really scaled back to a few basics. Now, here we are, both 50 and find ourselves the relatively new parents of a 3 and 4 year old, and suddenly gardening in large scale, and preserving it, are more attractive-not only from saving money and eating better quality food, but for the contribution family gardening makes to family dynamics and quality of family life. We eat many vegetarian meals and last night I went out searching for groups that might be helpful, especially for simple and quick meals (I'm most tired just when I should be starting dinner, and so are the kids!) and here I am!
