Guest guest
Hi Mare, LOL I always get a chuckle from your emails. Ahh the exception of your not feeling well of course. I have one year on you and can totally relate to all you have said with the exception that my father is a plumber...lol My Mother was a Health food fanatic(plus exercised 3 hours a day and died at the age of 45) but of course dinner was not dinner without meat but there was healthy things (healthy for back then). I was never allowed soda so if I came across it at friend's houses I would guzzle it like I was in the desert. At least I went through that phase and that was it for the soda. I just don't think though it divies up to all the partying and everything else...ya think? lol I had a pull happy dentist so at least you have teeth lol I have one capped and very painful root canaled tooth ( a one year plus toothache now) which I am going back to see the butcher on Tuesday to get it out since he says he sees nothing wrong. Sorry, I think I know what a toothache is..lol And I am tough! Hang in there hon and don't worry too much about losing your mind. Just think all that good food and all the bad stuff coming out, just won't let it happen. Be well Hugs, Tone
Guest guest
Tone, you are too funny! I esp. liked the part in your e-mail where you called your dentist " the butcher " ! Very funny stuff! (I'm trying to fill my life with more laughter & your e-mail hit the spot). Dang! That's terrible about your tooth. You would think that a " root-canaled " tooth would no longer be able to feel pain! YIKES! I have had toothaches that made me sob like a hysterical child. Def. one of the worst pains there are. That and " ear aches " . I feel for you! You know, that makes me think... I have " sensitive " teeth and I was hoping that cutting out all the sugar and stuff would help. Then I " heard " that it's the vegetable glycerin in the toothpaste that causes sensitivity. Does anybody know anything about this? What does everyone use for toothpaste? I've been using baking soda. I am a salt-a-holic and since I gave up salt, it's fun to brush my teeth with something salty, like baking soda. Anyway, Tone, good luck with that tooth! Guest guest
Mare, I have seen a lot of reference to using baking soda as a tooth cleaner. My Mother never had toothpaste in the house and it was always baking soda and it seemed like I was always at the dentist. Maybe it was the bone meal she had me chew daily..ya know the one that contained lead..LOL What about a natural toothpaste like Tom's of Maine or something? Or is that the same junk? I bought it and my said had said " blech " . well he said something other then that but you get the picture. Speaking of salt and I said this before, I never, ever used salt until I tried the Master Cleanse and did the salt water flush and now I crave freakin salt. Then again I am craving weird things lately. I am still sick of salad and am going to hypnotize myself when I go to sleep " I will like fruit..I will like fruit..lol And yes, earaches suck. I had them all the time as a kid and I still have them all the time as an adult. Gosh,,,I feel like jumping in a river now..lol But I just might remember how to swim. Good luck honey Hugs, Tone
Guest guest
Hi Tone. Just a question. Did your dentist adjust your bite when you got your crown? I had a crown placed and it was " high " in one spot. My dentist could find nothing wrong either, but my whole jaw was sore for months and months - the tooth too tender to bite on, while he took x-ray after x-ray and assured me nothing was wrong, and that there was no way I could feel pain in a root canalled tooth! He had to take quite a bit of material off the crown and the opposing tooth before the pain started going away. All is well now, and I still have my tooth! Wish I knew about being healthy with the Raw diet then! Good luck! ~Darla
Guest guest
Hi Darla, Hope this finds you well and happy. Yes, he adjusted the bite and all that. I think the thing was because he was so overbooked (everyone wants a cheap butcher) he waited too long inbetween the drilling, filling and crowning. This is not tender. This is a bonafied every single day kind of toothache. I have acquired a tolerance for the pain but there are days when my entire jaw feels like it is going to snap apart. I go on Tuesday and I am demanding something be done. I hate to lose it as it is the only anchor for the bridge I was getting but not worth always being in pain. I'm with you on the raw diet thing. I wish it did not take me 43 years to find out about it. I was vegan and surfing about or would have never known since I don't know anyone at all that is even vegetarian. Thanks so much for your help hon Have a beautiful weekend Hugs, Tone - Darla rawfood Friday, April 30, 2004 11:55 PM Re: [Raw Food] Detoxing(Mary Ellen) Hi Tone. Just a question. Guest guest
Flouride is the danger in 'regular' toothpaste and probably what 'causes' tooth sensitivity. No one needs toothpaste. Why do we need to " polish " our teeth? The idea is to reduce plaque which happens with a raw food diet. To CLEANSE the mouth nothing is needed except a brush. Use a tongue cleanser; slide the brush along the insides of the mouth and gums; then, use a brush to MASSAGE the gums by using a patting action towards the gum line. It's called " blotting " . You may find info at www.price-pottenger.org. -a rawfood , " Mary Ellen Wolfe " <Wolfegang@z...> wrote: ....
