The term slamdancing was used in Nor Cal in the late 70s. I think over here slamming and skanking are not the same thing. Slamming is what is says - slamming into each other, with pinballing being similar, but I thought skanking was dancing in a similar style to that in the Madness videos. My daughter had several years fairly recetly as a ska etc. fan, and the dancing they did was skanking.
