Guest guest
Bruce, I have been a vegetarian for close to 17 years and reently became a vegan and on my way to a 100% raw diet. I started training for my 3rd marathon in january - this will be my first raw vegan experience. I would appreciate any resources or suggestions to make this a success. thanks Jann Denver, CO __________ Free 20MB Web Site Hosting and Personalized E-mail Service! Guest guest
Jan congratulations on doing your 3rd marathon. That is something not many people can say. It is really hard for me to give you any real help in 1 E-Mail. There is so much to it, but if you have done this before on a regular Vegan diet you will find that your body will become more efficient. You will get more out of the raw food diet as the body can more easily assimilate it. I am just now getting into adventure racing at the young age of 37. I love the challenge you no the one…. I’m doing close to this now, you’re probably doing something similar already. 60% Carbohydrate 15% Protein 25% Fats & Oils You can see some other info on marathon diet here: http://uk.geocities.com/sandomenicorrc/nutrition.html You of course will have to think RAW… Raw is easy just spend the money and get a couple of good books with recipes. Then customize them to your own liking. I have Dining in the Raw by Rita Romano, Recipes for Longer Life by Ann Wigmore, and The Hippocrates Diet and Health Program Ann Wigmore. I also recommend 14-Day Herbal Cleansing by Laurel Vukovic it is a great overall easy to follow maintenance program. I’m sure there are some other good ones that the kind folks in this group will be happy to share. Here are a couple of other good sites www.eatraw.com www.living-foods.com www.rawfoodlife.com Best of luck, Forestgather (Bruce) The New with improved product search
