Guest guest
Coming out of lurking.... My VERY physically and mentally active children are 7 and 5 yrs old. 7yo insists on 1/2 to 1 whole Honeydew Melon every morning. It holds her for about 3 hours, then she most always wants a Banana and a Plum. 6yo wants 'just fruit' Banana/Strawberry smoothie every morning, but he'll eat LOTS of Cantelope when we can find it. We all munched on a huge sweet watermelon (first for the year) all morning yesterday while we were doing lots of physical yard work. It was yummy! With me being Insulin Resistant and have PCOS I'm increasingly amazed out how this is working wonders for my body and me not needing animal proteins to keep my insulin in check. Just thought that might say something supportive for the simplicity of melons. Mon, 17 Mar 2003 15:24:08 +0100 If you are just starting, it would be advantageous to read Raw Secrets by Frederic Patenaude from www.rawvegan.com or Sun Food Success System by David Wolfe from Amazon or his site. Mixing avocados with fruit is not ideal even though an avocado is a fruit. Fred Patenaude says melons mix only well with other melons. I am not sure what a musk melon is but I normally find a melon makes an excellent breakfast! Peter wendyshomeschool [no_reply ] 17 March 2003 03:27 rawfood [Raw Food] Re: energy drink allowed on raw? Hi, I don't know about your energy drink but you do have to eat lots and lots of fruit and veges to get the calories you are used to when raw. I was going to ask everyone what they eat for breaskfast. Today I was going to eat an entire musk melon to get a normal calorie level but half way through couldn't go any furthur. Perhaps it just takes practice. I fill up on dates, bananas and avocados. Wendy rawfood , " doll8090 " wrote: >I have just started the raw diet, and I feel hungry all the time.
