Hey everyone, be sure to read Ranvaig's previous post - it had a great spicy

salsa recipe towards the bottom of the post!! Thanks!

Re the onion mix and the Dhokar Dalna recipe and related issues, you said:

> I wouldn't try freezing it. The book says it will keep a week.

This was a good guess of mine, then ;=) But okay, no freezing. Always good to

know.

That's what I was thinking - *if* it could be frozen - or of course if one

needed

more portions or planned to eat it again within the week. Handy.

> I've been cooking Indian food for 25 years, I think. . . .

That's a goodish time ;=) Lots of experience there! I started collecting Indian

recipes many years ago, but some of them got lost in moving a long way

down the track, etc. etc. I've built up some good ones since. I too tend to cook

without a recipe and without measuring - so it's hard to give recipes, I agree.

But I'm trying out some of my favourites now and shall send the more

successful ones on to the list ;=)

>here is one of my favorites.

That looks great! Hey, next time, be sure to put it in a separate email, okay,

so

that we don't miss it!!!!

Thanks soooo much.

I went back and looked at the recipe again and saw nothing in there

that I haven't frozen before. Often the problem with freezing some

things (e.g., strawberries) is that they lose their original

structure; however, since it is made into a paste, I would think that

it would freeze nicely. I guess I will have to try the recipe and if

I have any left over try freezing it and see how it comes out. I'll

let you know how it comes out.

Also, I am enjoying this group. There have been some interesting

recipes and information. Thanks.

Hi again, Doug.

Okay, that's a great idea - about giving a trial to the freezing of the

onion-spice

mixture I mean - let us know how it goes! the only reason I can think for not

freezing it is that it might lose something or gain something in strength of

flavour etc from being frozen? But other curries - completed dishes - freeze

well provided they don't have anything that, as you say, would suffer re the

texture from the freezing.

I'm glad you're enjoying the list ;=) Keep posting and we'll all keep happy -

relying on you, is what we are *lol* - but seriously.
