Garlic - Veteran's definition

Hello Doc,

I can't take credit for the definition of a Veteran, nor can I find the

author, but it hits home for me! I have a son who is a special ops pilot

and has been deployed several times.

I think I love the definition of a Veteran more so because of the poor

treatment our government deals to them because I want the every day American

to understand what it means to be in the military. It is dangerous, and it

takes a lot of courage to sign up, especially today. I have seen too much

sadness and despair for many of them in the recent wars who need help they

cannot get. If I can at least help our former and current military members

get the well deserved respect they have earned by a little blurb on my

email, I feel I have done some justice for them in some way.

Thanks for taking the time to comment about this. I appreciate knowing it

has been well accepted by you.

Diane

A VETERAN

Whether on active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who,

at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to " The United

States of America, " for an amount of " up to and including my life. "

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no

longer understand it.

You are most welcome Diane.

It is too bad that our precious vets have to bear the brunt of the

idiocies of our politicians who've never fought a true battle in their

lives.

Any way, thanks for the explanation.

Love,

Doc
