Guest guest
My little one is going through his " baby acne " phase and I am wondering if anyone knows of anything that might help this condition out. I know that it - like cradle cap - isn't really anything horrible to really worry about, and that it will clear itself up in several weeks, but at the moment he just looks so red and splotchy and even has little zits on his earlobes. I guess we'll be waiting to get the Spring/Easter pictures taken *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Chris, I know Welda has a nice calendula baby cream...and this site has some nice theraputic baby products if you click on that link once in there. They suggest the baby theraputic soap and cream. www.babybootiebasket.com. They use oatmeal and tea tree oil in one formula. Aveeno has a nice product over the counter with oatmeal in it for the itching of poison oak. I think it is not too harsh. Perhaps add a drop of tea tree oil to it. Just some thoughts. I also like the idea of the calendula as it is so soothing. I'm new to all this formulating, so perhaps others know better. Is baby allergic to any food product or environmental allergin that may be causing the skin problems? It's been quite a few years since mine were babies. Guest guest
Hi Chris Little Robin had this problem and fortunately it's now gone away (only to be replaced by dry eczema - but we're working on that!) She didn't do anything special apart from bathing it with Lavender water. Ann My little one is going through his " baby acne "

Babies have pores that are too small to perspire efficiently... Take my poor baby, spotty faced little thing;. He's been HOT lately... Cheers! Patience is the best medicine here...but I know its hard- one of mine had this! I made a baby washbag by putting ground herbs and oats in a muslin bag(I used yarrow, chamomile and lavender, less herbs than oats) I soaked it in the bath and would squeeze out the " milk " over his skin- no scrubbing, but soothing oat cream - anyway- it wont last long... Guest guest
I'm no expert but I've had 3 kids LOL. I wouldn't do anything for the baby acne except keep it clean. It will go away soon enough. It also could also be heat rash. From too much covering. Also two of my kids had a rash that I thot was baby acne and it wasn't. Baby acne isn't supposed to look splotchy, especially big splotches. Anyway, baby acne goes away by itself. Just don't do what a not-too-bright friend of mine did and wash it with facial scrub. Baby skin is just too delicate.
