Lower back pain caused by liver disharmony

Hello you all...

just a question

Is it possible that trough Liver disharmony the Lower back can be

affected? And what is the underlying mechanism for this?

Yes i know that the liver promotes the Qi circulation and when this

stagnates it can affect the lower back, but i was thinking...why?

how?

maybe the internal channel of the Chong Mai ?

Best wishes

liver governs freecoursing of qi --> qi commands the blood --> qi & blood

stagnate

causing pain

liver stores blood + liver governs sinews --> contracture of sinew

liver and kidney are of the same source --> liver blood and kidney jing are

mutually

engendering --> weakness in sinew and bone causes back pain

liver connects with gallbladder which connects with dai mai --> indicated for

back pain

....just off the top of my head, i'm sure there's more...

in Japan a lot of back pain gets treated as a liver pattern where aching or

weakness would

be more of a kidney sign. very common to tx LR4 for back pain in Japan.

Matsumoto's Metal Water regimen, Rx LR 4 Metal pont to curb rising or Heated

LV qi.

Other 5 E designs:

Middle aged men overly eaten - SP Xu in time causing Excess UB

Here LBP will run concurrent with ST Heat from Stag Food + UB Heat symptoms

Treat only SP Yin

Sensitive patient, HT qi consumed, not yet seriously - HT yin Xu causing SI

Excess

Here LBP will be mainly a Heated UB [sI UB paired Tai Yang]

Treat only HT Yin

Congenital LU Xu from smoking parents - LU Xu with K Def

Here LBP will be less pronounced, but LV will figure greatly

Treat only LU Yin, but structurally with symmetry & Gua sha

Some asymmetry Designs:

Scapulo-pelvic asymmetry - Unequal shoulder height

Here the LBP will be subclinical, more an ache, with a torqued torso

Treaonly the asymmtry, not the LBP

Mastoid-pelvic asymmetry - one sternomastoid tighter than another

Here the low grade LBP will have severe intervening episodes

Treat only the SCMastoid

Dai asymmetry - one has given way over the other

LBP can be chronic with Lower Warmer Stagnation

Treat only the Dai

Probably can think up more but these are most common.

HELLO YOU ALL,

I believe that OMT energetic anatomy places the Liver

in the Lower Jiao and its Qi goes upward and outward;

it is countered by the Lung whose Qi descends and

disperses and in the middle are the Sp/St.

When Liver Qi stagnates it could cause lower back pain

due to Qi stagnation especially if the Kidney is weak,

also, an excessive Liver can cause more demand for

yin, and would cause the mother Kidney to become

deficient and thereby lead to lower back pain.

The Liver and GB are strongly connected to the Dai

Mai, and that too may become affected locally and lead

to pain.

Finally, every case should be diagnosed and treated

accordingly.
