Yes....running cupping and possibly more importantly GuaSha especially if one

uses appropriate topical Chinese herbs to disperse.

As example for chronic Yin skin type problems - goiter, scrofula,

subcutaneous nodules Ban Xia can be used with Kun Bu, Hai Zao, Chuan Bei Mu

either

internally or topically. But topically use Sheng Ban Xia as it is much better in

function.

For joint pain - powder Sheng Ban Xia and mix with rice wine.....put on joint

to stop pain. Can also mix Sheng Ban Xia powder with raw egg and put on

topically for chronic yin skin problems.

Sheng Bai Jie Zi to invigorate qi circulation, disperse nodules, open

channels, and stop pain. Can use topically mixed with rice wine to make a cake o

rmix

powder and put into moxa.

Sheng Nan Xing

Can be prepared with ginger juice (Zhi Nan Xing) and alum. Can be used for

heat-phlegm balanced with Hunag Qin or Gua Lou. Dries dampness and expels tough

sticky phlegn. Disperses wind-phlegm in channels, stops spasms, reduces

swellings, alleviates pain.

Tian Nan Xing with Tian Ma can be used topically for wind-phlegm as seen in

hemiplegia, hypertension, etc.

Bie Xie - can be used topically for skin damp problems such as in eczema.

This list is just a beginning....there is much more.

Won't be a good idea to " abrade " cellulite with cold cupping, thing won't

,move

readily and trauma may cause more extracellular extravasation and fluid

compaction.

Since the condition is literally " yellow congealed " and by nature greasy, a

simple

heat based liniment coupled with punctuated heating of cold spots will

loosen tissue

and then cupping will give fair results.

As a final consideration one must work out where to move cellulite.

If one moves to the reverse one is sending an unnatural substance into a

natural

pathway.

If one moves to the forward one is sending an unnatural substance into a

unnatural

pathway setting up a precedence.

Sort of between the Devilish gentleman and the deep sea.

I usually deal with subcutaneous nodules, spongy, hardish, India Rubbery

consistency.

These lie on ST channel in the main; on LU nearer LU 5 Japanese location,

on HT 3, again Japanese location [don't know if Japnese is the right term].

Sometimes there is a matting of smallish sago-sized nodules at LU 5.

K 9 Japanese location which is inferior by a cun to the conventional

position,

presents as a wider [1.5 to 2 cm] disk, flattish, no graining.

Most cases fall into:

LU yin def - LV yang rising

HT yin def - LI yang rising but mainly presenting as LU yin def

ST True qi def - most symptoms are ST based and belatedly SP

Suggest a topical from these?

Hi Dr. Peter!

If it isn't a secret, could you bang together a little description of it

in English for those of us who don't read Spanish that well? Thanks.

Regards,

Pete

I'd love to know more detail about the protocol for running cupping for

cellulite. I'd also be interested in knowing about your successes.

Also Richard wrote

cupping alone won't accomplish the task fully. a combination of

therapies

including a form of GuaSha, along with heat, along with herbs.

Could you share your protocols and successful experiences?

Thanks,
