The soup was tomato-based, withcabbage, celery, carrots, onions and not much else. They lost maybe5-10 pounds. However, I think this worked for them mostly because theyare avid meat-eaters. Cutting out meat really drops calorie in-take,fat in-take, fat-calorie in-takeetc. I doubt this would be veryeffective for vegetarians and vegans.Using this diet though, I would recommend not mixing fruits & vegetables in the same mealthey don't digest well together, so chooseone or the other with a meal. (You can eat them on the same day, justnot at the same time.) Also, one diet plan posted here has a day ofdrinking as much skim milk as wanted. I would recommend avoiding this,as our bodies were not designed to digest milk past a certain age(toddler years!), especially not the milk of other animals. If Iremember my biology right, all mammals cease producing lactase (theenzyme needed for digesting the lactose in milk) after infancy. Toomuch milk & milk products can actually increase the production ofmucus in your body (not just in your nose) and thus "clog" your wholesystem. Plus most milk contains antibiotics & hormones, andpasteurization kills everything good in the milk along with the bad.(Raw milk is different story of course, still too much of that is nothelpful either.) And remember magnesium & vitamin D3 are two thingsrequired to help your body assimilate & utilize calcium.--Abby__________Message: 2 Thu, 16 Feb 2006 01:58:00 -0800 (PST) Jagannath Chatterjee Vaccine for bird flu may be useless : Experts.
