Yes, you are correct...and this hasn't come out of the blue. It began with a serious rash on my elbow, knees legs and arms, which is what began the blood tests. Lupus can take up to 2 years to manifest, and is also hard to 'officially' diagnose. You pretty much must have 4 out of 11 factors plus a positive ANA. I have 3 out of the 11 plus the positive ANA. I will be receiving tests every 6 months for the next 2 years, so it could be some time before an 'official' diagnosis. But since many factors are pointing to lupus (although my pregnancy could also be affecting tests), they are not taking any chances since I am pregnant, which is fine with me. The baby's health is most important. If and when I get an 'official' diagnosis, I will be also seeing a naturopath, as I am not a huge fan of pharmaceutical drugs and would rather find natural ways of treating the condition.

That's why I go in for tests every 6 months...I usually don't care for conventional docs, but this rheumatologist seems really good. She has not given an official diagnosis, and we will be continuing testing, especially after the baby is born to see if the pg hormones affected any of the tests.

Conventional docs are so quick to label a patient or if they have no idea what is wrong they stuff you in a category so THEY feel better!

What a neat looking web site you have. I'm going to have to explore

it more when I get a chance. How did you get you nick-name? You

will like this site, most of the group is not afraid to state their

opinions (we take after our group mom).

Having lived a sheltered life (not), what is a Pagan?

Great to meet ya....

It's bare minimum right now. Just the absolute necessities up, and we're

working on it as we get time.

> How did you get you nick-name?

Oh boy...that's a long story. Bast is an Egyptian Goddess, and let's just

say She smacked me upside the head a few years ago, and I adopted the name

out of respect for Her.

Yay! I like lists like that-but ones that are concerned too. I think I'll

enjoy it here very much:)

> Having lived a sheltered life (not), what is a Pagan?

You know, I think I *assumed* this was a Pagan list...*laughter*. My bad

and my apologies. Pagan means different things for different people. What

*I* believe is in duality and balance. I'm not Wiccan, which is mistakenly

assumed the same as witch or Pagan. I am agnostic for the most part, and

don't believe the Divine rules my life, rather I am *part* of the divine

and choose my own destiny. Make sense?

Hi AoB, Carol,...all,

I have a good friend here... the way she phrases it is.......(and i can hear

her saying this!) " The Universe Is In Charge.........BUT, remember, you

always have free choice......... " Betty from the Trinity Table Center - if

anyone can point you to some good books on this, it's her - her e-mail's

trinitytable - she's in Florida. She has a lending library there at

her center as well and has brought many good books (none of which I can

remember the titles of at the moment!!!!!!) over for me to read.. nice lady.

you, though since most everything's on the web... there is, I'd bet, a link

out there... I'll do some looking too :) Nice to have ya here,

Emryldgea, first, what a neat name, could you tell me how to pronounce it?

Second, welcome to that tub, and to all the other " new " people whom I havn't

responded to, please forgive, sometimes time doesn't allow for a lot of

chatting from me and I tend to skip over a lot of posts. I am, however,

always glad to take the time to help anyone I can , albeit limited as it is.

I know you'll enjoy it here, everyone is friendly, kind, and not " caty " . LOL

Usually you have to open the attachment. Clicking on it is what executes

the virus. These buggers are usually set up to replicate themselves

through Microsoft Outlook; so if you're not using that email client, at

least you won't be sending the virus out to everyone in your address book.

Get yourself some good anti-virus software. I keep my Norton updated, and

it catches these suckers before they come in.

Hiya Selket!

Welcome - and sorry if I missed ya before! I have Nav too and also use

netscape for e-mail and have norton set up to auto-scan things as they come

in and also auto-get any new up-date, so I don't have to.........so far it's

worked out great and everything's getting caught before it comes thru.. if

you go into your setting for the anti-virus, you can have yours do that

too... and I also have it do a full scan every week, whether I'm online or

not.. also helps :) Whenever I'm online and there's a new update, even a

teeny one, for a new virus, all of a sudden norton will just go and grab it

from their site automatically and install it.. so I don't have to worry about

it.

Careful if you're using Outlook for e-mail since it's a known

virus-tester.......and I'd (if I were you <grin>) get the newest updates and

do a full scan on the computer since some of the newer virus's out there can

delete some of your computer files and that's really bad!!!!!!!! Good luck -

hope it helps and if it didn't .. give a yell, ummm, an e-mail :)

Hugs and welcomes,

Marilyn :)
