I wrote about NLP, coincidentally, in my last e-zine--it's a three part article that will extend for the next two issues. I've always had mixed feelings about NLP for a number of reasons, that I'd be happy to talk about if any one is interested. You can also get the e-zine at http://askcarl.net or I would be happy to send it to you. Carl Weisbrod http://askcarl.net

On the NLP thing, my suggestion is that you don't take it seriously until you have the nut's & bolts of traditional hypnosis. NLP to a psychotherapist, should be like a torque- wrench (or any other tool) to a mechanic...no more than that. It's good to read about it, but Bandler & Grinder tended to over-simplify human behavior. Their mentor, Milton Erickson, felt very strongly about the need for basics first--and I agree. Perhaps a better area of study is to learn to recognize various states of mind: left/right brain, detachment/lassitude, eye position/REM, somnambulism, etc. And then link the types of ideas best absorbed at the various levels and the autonomic functions possible to influence. That to me is more useful--but NLP is certainly interesting. Carl http://askcarl.net
