Guest guest Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Dear friends, H. H. Udaynath Maharaj from Mumbai, India, was inspired towards spiritual practice and meditation at the tender age of 6. He started spiritual practice in the form of solitude and moun (silence). At the age of 1,1 He experienced the state of unmani (a stage indicating progress on the Path of Meditation) for the first time. Thereafter, He lost interest in worldly life. His desire for Self-realization grew stronger every day. At the age of 14, He experienced the state of unmani for the second time. He was in that state for 42 days. Till this stage his spiritual practice was self-motivated. He had no guidance or Guru, even then He persevered on the spiritual path. At the age of 15, He went to his village Asavali, which is 215 kms from Mumbai. There, He chose a barren piece of land and started spiritual practice there. For 5 days continuously, He did panchagin tap sadhana, which is part of the Path of Deliberate Rigor. Thereafter, He progressed rapidly towards the Final Liberation (Moksha). In 1998 on the day of Ramnavami, the organization 'Om Brahmachaitanya Udaynath Maharaj Bodhiprasarak Mandal' was founded under his guidance.
