Dear Friends:

Here's an interesting correspondence regarding the whole question of freedom

vs. determinism...or fate....

Mark K.

Dear Surya:

This is perhaps the most deep, and confusing, and even, controversial

aspects of Jyotish and of life...I can think of.

Life obviously has it deterministic aspects. Look at everything, it's

following some natural order, design and plan.

You plant a banana seed, and you're going to get a banana tree!

But, we also believe in freedom.

When you look at creation, in fact, you see such a whirlwind of galaxies and

Universes!

It's hard to imagine all 'that' was created in a bound, deterministic way,

though the creation itself, seems to follow many rules, and laws of nature.

So, it's a very confusing question determinism...and freedom.

We can take hope, however, because though the obvious signs of bondage,

boundries, and laws and rules are all around us;

we do have something inside of us that seems to be more free!

And that is our Consciousness or Soul....

A good case can then, be made for this aspect of our lives as being the

source of true freedom in life....

The verification of this idea or hope, can be found in actual experience.

When the mind, awareness, or attention, goes within, in fact, leaving the

outside, world, we can have a direct experience of this inner, though hidden

and abstract level of 'uncreated' life...

When the mind, even, transcends the relative existence...and has a direct

experience of the Unbounded field of pure Consciousness....

then, we can have a pure taste of unlimited freedom!

There are no limitations of even time and space in this experience....

and .....

funnily enough, when we come out of this state, we find ourselves....

thinking more clearly, more inner awake, and even self-confident, and more

intuitive...

In fact, everything about our life is found better.

So, if there's any case that can be made for a person being able to change

their fate or karma....it might be....

the ability to contact...this source of all .....

actions, karmas, and creation....

Practical experience also shows that.... people have the ability, to look

within,....and conquer their patterns, and bad habits, and compulsions...

Even Spiritually, there are those, highly evolved souls that tell us, that

Human Life, has the potential...of complete Mastery over creation.

There are even, many instances, in Vedic Knowledge, which are called,

Sidhis, or Mental Perfections, which are representative of the potential of

Human Consciousness, to transcend...and grow beyond not only the normal

constraints of past karmas or fate...

but also arrive at such a sublime level of Natural freedom from which real

Mastery can be lived....

Some of these include such 'sidhis', as Levitation, knowing anything at a

time, ability to go through walls, and many more.

There are some great Indian Vedic Seers, who say this is the real nature of

Human Beings...and is much more representative of the true,

freedom aspect of human life.....

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

In my experience, also, in addition to this Consciousness aspect, there is

the possibility to grow, more in-tune with each Planet through Jyotish,

which may also give great freedom to change one's karmas...and fate...

PS....for those of you who haven't heard, I also write a Jyotish

newsletter. It includes a daily, Transits newsletter as well as other

aspects

of Jyotish as well. If you, or anyone else in this group is interested, in

subscribing, feel free to contact me personally at: m.kincaid

I, also have a new /message board, called

which is a nice blending of both Western & Eastern

Astrologys. You can

check that out at:
