Dear HC,

The Janmarashi kundali or rashi kundali or chandra kundali is oriented

from the natal moon. If your natal moon (at birth) was in kumbha then

the chart would be rotated for examination with kumbha considered as

the first house. The lagna kundali on the other hand is for the exact

epoch of your birth so if at your birth, mesha was rising then your

lagna kundali will be oriented from the mesha being placed in the first

house.

Both kundalis are examined and there are many views some of which

indicate that different periods in life the different kundalis become

more active. Then there is the sudarshana chart in which three charts

are superimposed starting with lagna, moon and sun being placed in the

first house.

While doing all this, please keep in mind that lagna changes faster

than moon and moon faster than sun.
