Guest guest Report post Posted January 14, 2002 Ashok Sundaresan ! Your postings are excellent. Thank you for your contribution. You had asked about MAA VARAHI and Sri. Menon has posted a message giving the Mantras. I hope you are not seriously thinking of doing Upasana of MAA VARAHI. The Upasana is said to give maximum power and also the most dangerous. MAA VARAHI or VARTHALI is said to be easily pleased and also easily annoyed. Though I do not believe this what I do know is that the Mantra is like a Bazooka or a rocket propelled grenade. It involves elaborate rituals and use of prescribed material and should never be attempted without a Guru. Believe me. I have two books in Tamil, written by MAA's Upasakas about this Upasana. But getting a proper Guru to initiate you is very difficult. Dear Sri Kochu Menon, Please do not post any mantras on the message board. I do not think Sundaresan asked for the mantras. Even if some member asks specifically for any mantra please tell them by a separate e-mail. Let us confine ourselves to description of MAA in our message board. We all value your contributions and please continue to give us the benefit of your knowledge of MAA. Best Regards I request the other members also to note this basic rule of this group. You can ask for a Mantra if you really need one. Any of our members who have the knowlege will inform you directly by e-mail. Jai MAA KAALI
Guest guest Report post Posted January 14, 2002 Dear All: Sorry I broke rules. I normally behave like ramanuja of one of the first messages. But in group one has to behave. I shall. Re: Vaaraahi I agree on the efficacy and dangers. For ANY mantropasana other than Lalita this must be the normal rule. With respect to Lalita in Sri Vidya Rathnakara, according to the author, he has been given the boon that any upasaka can use his book as Guru. Vaaraahi and Masthangi are also contained in that book.
