Thanks Dhruv Bhura for your reply,I will search for that post by you on

Homa.Unfortunately,I don't live in India,so I can't get that book. :crying2: But I would like to know one more thing,can you do a Homa or any Puja/Yajna when a relative has died?

I dont think answer should be "NO" when someone has died.

Normally we keep a shok/sutak for 13 days. All religious stuff can be done after that.

Normally we avoid doing happening/entertaining/parting for another 6 months.

 

P.S - Answer to this question can be answered & authenticated by your close family members or pujari.

I would like to know how to really do a basic Homa or how to do a Gayatri Homa.Is a Homa like doing Agnihotra?.Can you do a Homa when a relative has died?

If a close relative from a paternal side dies the aashoucha would be there for 13 days.Depending on the nature of relationship.Secondly Gayathri homa is only for Brhmacharis
