Is Gangajal as much Auspicious as Jamnaji

Afriend of mine who's mother is aged and constantly seek is been gifted by Ganga jal from a relative instead of Jamnaji ( asked for ).

Is it Auspicious to keep ganga jal in house or should he send it to temple.
