What is the meaning of Siddhara?

I am curious to know what does the name Siddhara mean? Is it traditionally name for males and/or females? I believe there was a prince with such a name and there is a place so named. Is there also a definition, is it a word?

Tha place Siddhara Betta, (also known as Nijagalu Betta), or Siddhara Basadi/Basti, is named such because siddha's were believed to have meditated on it's slopes.

 

I have heard of Siddhara Gavi, Saint's cave.

 

The Prince Siddhartha Gautama, refers to the Buddha prior to enlightenment. Why can I find both Siddhartha and Siddhara Gautama referring to the same master. Is it simply a different spelling in translation?

 

Tha name Siddhara seems to be equally used for boys and girls. It appears to be associated with Siddha's and the Buddha. However I still wonder about a definition if there is one.
