Proprtiating/strengthening??

Hi,

i am lil confused with respect to propriating the planets and strengthening the planets...what the difference between the two?? can i request the learned members to plz explain me wid an example..

For appeasing a planet, making it lesser disagreeable, we propitiate - "graha shanti" as its called. Fasting, charity and mantra japa are known to cause effective propitiation

 

Strenghtening a planet - suppose a benefic is combust, deep combust, loses in planetary war or debilitates - then we aim to strengthen the planet. Gemstones are the best way for strengthening a planet.
