Hare Krishna Adwaitji,

One should not become a mother or a father if they can't make their children into a devotee of Krishna. It is important to be a mother so that she can produce a devotee of Krishna. She is the one who can develop and nourish the child in Krishna conciousness. A mother is like a guru, we learn our first lessons from her- and most of the time those lessons that we first got from our mother stick with us for the rest of our life. The fruit does not fall far from the tree, so if we have a nice spiritual minded mother, she can instill in us the samskaras that will help us in our spiritual life.

Jai Nitai!
