Soma juice?

Soma rasa is sipped leisurely by the demigods.

It should only be drunk by demigods who have a load of pious credits. But I know that when Hiranyakasipu went to conquer Indra he demanded soma rasa. It must be really good and "heavenly" (literally).

soma rasa was made from a special soma plant, that used to grow here on earth in previous ages (thousands of years ago). this plant was a gift from demigods to humans, but it was taken back with the advent of Kali-yuga.

Here is Wikipedia's take:

The indigenous peoples of Siberia (from whom the term shaman was appropriated) have used the fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria) as an entheogen. The ancient inebriant Soma, mentioned often in the Vedas, may have been an entheogen. (In his 1967 book, Wasson argues that Soma was fly agaric. The active ingredient of Soma is presumed by some to be ephedrine, an alkaloid with stimulant and (somewhat debatable) entheogenic properties derived from the soma plant, identified as Ephedra pachyclada.) However, there are also arguments to suggest that Soma could have also been Syrian Rue, Cannabis, or some combination of any of the above plants.

That is a complete nonsense. The soma plant was actually hard to grind. Special grinding stones and stone bowls were used for that purpose. Grinding was needed to make the soma-rasa, juice extracted from the plant. It also had nothing to do with the ganja plant, as ganja was well known in Vedic times and was certainly a separate plant. Fly agaric is a very soft mushroom and can be made into a paste with your bare fingers.

ground up by devas and asuras on the back of sri kurma, via mahasamkarsana. made from extradimensional materials produced by sacred mathmatical processes.

Its chemical number is nine, meaning it is what the Supreme Lord drinks.

or its the name of a pharmaceutical product containing various amounts of codeine, from number 1 to 4. Good stuff if you need such things, but then again, all stuff from poppies is good if used properly. If not, ya die.
