Pankaja_Dasa 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2007 is it okay to be individual instead of listening to gurus and things? I think better be individual. Guru is all merciful, he will help u no matter what, alternative is go cray following Guru.
AncientMariner 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2007 I don't know but that is a good question in my opinion. I personally don't see how a person could be happy with no sense of individuality and I have always viewed sprituality as actually enhancing that individuality in some sense. I know when studying Krishna Consciousness there does seem to be some aspects of it that try to create people into a Borg like collective but I have never viewed that aspect of it as being the true essence of Prabhupada. Take George Harrison for example, apparently Prabhupada viewed him as more than a disciple so I am guessing Prabhupada didn't demand that George Harrison shave his head and join the collective at all costs.
