Sat Nam Susan,

I found Kundalini Yoga about 6 months ago and it is changing my life.

To address your question and statement about your knee, disc herniation, and

stenosis being "real" medical problems and not Chakra blocks.

I have worked for many years with people in chronic pain using Neuromuscular

and postural therapies with stellar results.

I would highly recommend the book, "Pain Free" by Pete Egoscue and read

about the link between "Posture and Pain" and do the exercises he

recommends for back and knee issues.

For example: The human frame has weight bearing joints (4 sets - shoulders,

hips, knees, ankles) and their health and integrity rely on proper muscle

balance of the muscles that comprise each joint. Modern living robs us of

the necessary motion to maintain the joint alignment. Yoga sets, walking,

or any movement done on a "dysfunctional Frame" will result in pain, disc

pathology, arthritis, etc. The Postural exercises you will find in that

book or from a practitioner of the Postural Therapy program will "reboot"

the muscular system in a very unique and functional way that other

"exercises" cannot.

I do not think the yogi's before the information age foresaw the 4 x 4 box

we call the "work station" and its dreadful affects on our bodies.

I short I 1st found Kundalini "weird" and now I wear a white hat 50 % OF THE

TIME and wake up at 5 am for my meditations. The postural therapy I

recommend gets the same initial look from the "medical" professionals I

share it with until their patient gets out of pain without drugs or surgery.

Be Well,

KY&M list

Kundalini Yoga questions & very excited!

Sat Nam!

I would like to thank everyone for being so supportive of my coming back to

KY&M and this list. I have been very much enjoying it.

I am very excited to be going back to teaching; my first class starts on

Tuesday, 3/7. Wonder of wonders, though; I received an email this morning

from someone wanting to register for the class and it turns out she was a

student of mine at a local YMCA when I taught 6 years ago! I am taking this

as a sign from the Universe that I am on the right path of my spiritual

journey.

Also, I had been reading about pain in the knees and back with great

interest. I understand that sometimes these pains are caused by chakra

blockages, stress and other issues. But what if they are caused my actual

and real medical problems? I had knee surgery 1 1/2 years ago and the knee

will never be 100%, also I have a herniated disc in my back as well as

spinal stenosis. These are real medical obstacles that interfere with my

life as they cause pain. I am doing Sadhana again for the 1st time in many

years - chose to go back to basics with the Spinal Flex Series, which I will

do for 40 days. It makes my back feel better for a short period of time. So,

I guess the question would be, what if the pain is from a real medical

problem and not from other internal causes?

I look forward to hearing what you all think.

Goddess Bless,

Susan Morgaine (Devta Kaur)

It's really inspiring to know a lotta people are engaging in Kundalini Yoga. But I must say that simply the meditation won't help in it. I'm going through Kundalini Yoga and it's really sweating, lol. Mediation may make you feel some awesome stuffs...but not the awakening of the Kundalini. If you get into with an enlightened Guru, you could get it as a piece of a cake, but depends upon

exactly on the aspirant.

I can suggest you the person to get you initiate and advance you ... further...

and if it is only for pain U'll find it nowhere around U anymore !!! How far U r ready to march the globe???

Hello everyone,

Well, through Meditation, too, the awakening of Kundalini is possible but demands an enlightened Guru to guide. By our own means we can activate upto the third chakra. In Tantra, there is the easiest way to the activation... SHAKTIPAAT. Shaktipat is given in numerous ways by a capable Guru. Only the capable one with 7th chakra activation can guide the upsurging to next. If there's no capable one to guide the energy on the path then Kundalini spoils in no time. I've met lotta people with the activation of 1st Chakra but lost the energy... ... ... and tell you guys, I'm under the shade of that capable Guru... and I've met people who have activated upto third eye under her guidance. She has been my Guru from several births. Around 2 decades of search for the peace of mind and the real truth has landed me on her holy feet. It's been just more than a couple of months.

regards
