Can We Purify Our Kali-Yuga Quarrel and Hypocrisy Mentality With Devotion?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Do we really think that quarreling about religion can purify our tendency toward quarrel and hypocrisy?

We seem almost unashamed to bicker and dicker about the unknowable. Do we think it is some kind of purification process?

Maybe it is? Disgusting though it be.

gHari, I don't think of argumentation as a purifying process. In fact, any time that i have entered into a debate on this forum or in person etc i have always felt dipensed of all energy and my mind becomes agitated. You're right - devotion is the right way. Love is the way :)

Debating should be done in the right manner. Simply trying to impose my ideas on the other will not work as the opponent is also trying to do the same.

If you are getting into a debate, ask yourself this: What is the criteria for closure from either side and do I see this happening? In most cases, you will find there is no clear answer to this question. If you don't get a clear answer, do not get into the debate.

hare krishna

many a time a religious discussion starts with an enquiry or stating facts and that leads to comparison , trying to prove themselves and imposing their beliefs on others accompanied by hate ,anger, hurt........

one must remember that one doesn't become right by showing others to be wrong.

healthy arguments about religion discloses various facts, believes and understanding.one must not forget the basic idea behind the discussions that ALMIGHTY GOD exists and our true mission is to reach him by overcoming our sense gratification tendencies. NOTHING is important in life if it is not about god and how to achieve him !

hare krishna.

I have found the same thing Gaea. The mind becomes agitated and chanting of Naam is not as sweet. Love is the way.

It would be good if we could get more realization of, subtle differences and moods of Guru's and disciples, and different groupings. And see these things as sacred. Rather than conflicting moods that need to be challenged and oppressed. God is huge I reckon, and very diverse. I am sure the heart to heart factor with a beautiful God is very special and very sacred.

I would like to develop such things in my consciousness when joining in discussions and debates on forums. Try at least.

You would hope with the more insight and knowledge we glean, from reading, such qualities would manifest spontaneously. But the opposite seems to happen sometimes. Easy to puff up isn't it?

Words come to mind....blessed are the simple and pure in heart. They are the fortunate one's. By chanting Naam hopefully our hearts may move in such a direction.

Thank you for making this point in such a clear and concise way.

No but addressing questions with pure knowledge is better than addressing the 'unknowable' with more 'unknowable'.

We seem almost unashamed to bicker and dicker about the unknowable. Do we think it is some kind of purification process?

Maybe it is? Disgusting though it be.

The discusting part is when faith and selfish opinions resound over the intent of Love or real compassionate approach to addressing questions and the 'unknowable'....

Meaning for the truth to unfold articulation must begin with dialogue of quality intent, rather than retention of a faith.

Forget the self for a moment and think of others

Devotion comes from being absolute in the pursuit of Good... not faith!

Salam-a-lekum Bishadi,

Cocophony! You are a fountain of spewing non-sequitor tripe.

To be proven correct, simply print out the phrases and sing them to an audience at a mandir, surely you will be escorted to the nearest portal.

Such is my selfless devotion in pursuit of being absolutely clear.

Don't be disgusted by others, be equi-minded.

faithfully yours,

Bhaktajan

Oh Bishadi,

So Rambhadr doesn't want you at the nevins Mandir?

"The holly is much used to adorn churches and houses, at Christmas time, and hence is associated with scenes of good will and rejoicing. It is an evergreen tree, and has a finegrained, heavy, white wood. Its bark is used as a febrifuge, and the berries are violently purgative and emetic."

Did your wife leave you?

Do you lack intergrity?

Self-honesty would be your first step toward yourown self-actualization.

If you are not a muslim in actuality--then you are lying, correct?

Will you not betray Allah and the prophets if you stay incognito?

Maybe you should get on the "A" train and meet a real devotee of God.

No disciples, anymore?

"A real Krishna Conscious person can adjust things nicely even in hell. A fully Krishna Conscious person is always in transcendental position and he is not afraid of any place which is so called, unfit for human habitation. A Krishna Conscious person is always satisfied whether in Vaikuntha or in hell. His satisfaction is not the particular place but his sincere service attitude towards Krishna."

Not the religious type; theology teaches compassionate association.

About it!

The rest are for the religious types.

Been reading and doing what this me does best; learning and putting the A's and B's together.

Perhaps some of the summaries so far;

By this time the planet will be filled with people who will be unable to understand logical conversations. They will be too slow-minded and dull-witted, not capable of being taught much, especially in the way of high philosophy regarding the purpose of life. They will not know what they need to do or how to live. And they certainly will be unable to change their ways.

Garuda questioned further:

Please tell me, mother, that I may understand clearly, by what auspicious signs do I recognize a brahmana?

Vinata said:

If you swallow someone and he tears at your throat like a barbed hook and burns like a red--hot charcoal, then, my son, you should understand him to be an exalted brahmana.

If you practice as you preach --you will be acursed by your own flickering mind.

Each life time may be for reconciling only (1) one tiny character flaw.

This flaw may or may not be rectified.

So much extra time to perfect one's own consciousness yet this usually is left un-done also.

So much baggage that fills one's quarters yet at the end of the day you are more ignorant than when you showed up last.

Like Ravi Shankar's skills--you are losing time when you could be making hey.

My quess is that a colon cleasning will release all your acidic ama lodged in your intestines.

Placque will harden in the large and minute passages--so purge your bile until it's all gone.

Be shady ta runes of your prose are dilapidated slums of your mind.

May Krishna bless you with benedictions.

Evolution is a normal pattern. Such that I would place a bet with anyone, you are a little more educated today, since before ever bumping into the truth.

Each life time may be for reconciling only (1) one tiny character flaw.
What flaw? Born into a far too good looking kind of guy? a ‘surfer beach bum’ …. The kind all the mother’s warned their little girls about.

This flaw may or may not be rectified.

So much extra time to perfect one's own consciousness yet this usually is left un-done also.

Why? Are you talking about ‘existence’ or individual people taking too much time?

So much baggage that fills one's quarters yet at the end of the day you are more ignorant than when you showed up last.
then growth ‘has’ occurred as the further away from the complacent, the less chance of ever returning; progress is alive.

--you are losing time when you could be making hey.
Often this comes to thought when the self of me thinks about things, but to understand the idea of ‘removing the self’ then a calm (awakening) takes the lead; so why ponder on what could be so much as ‘do’ each moment, so ‘I do’ most every moment awake…..

is it possible you miss me? Or is it possible you want more?

Maybe if you used the gifts you possess, and making fruit; then ask quality questions and live; not only in Peace but in the knowledge ‘others’ might learn from your choice and intent to pursue ‘good’…. Nothing is stopping you but you!

Be shady ta runes of your prose are dilapidated slums of your mind.

May Krishna bless you with benedictions.

Seems maybe your experiencing a little pain. Maybe read what Vinata said to look for.

If you want to ask questions --you should. And then you can look forward to being educated in Bhakti-yoga.

Every word you have been posting is psycho-babble.

Stop talking. You are ignorant of your superior mentors on this web-site.

You are being made a punching bag and you persist with your haughty hipster-doof-ness.

It sickens me to waste my time reading your responses.

We are not alone and I thank you for being such a resilent punching-clown.

Get educated properly and make properly cogent remarks, otherwise, YOU ARE USELESS.

If you don't answer my questions that I have posted to you from the start--then shut you doltish mouth.

I asked you to comment on my short synopsis of the souls surjourn yet instead you post tripe, tripe & more tripe.

You speak english properly don't you? {another question}

You should be ashamed of yourself,

MR. BHAKTAJAN

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura Mahasaya:

"Talking about others’ misdeeds, criticizing others, quarreling, scolding, bearing false witness, taking advantage at others’ expense, violence, theft, spending others’ money, beating others, and lusting after others’ wives are all actions that disturb others and should be avoided."

Nice thought how to introduce devotion and thereby solve all problems.

SO did you forget that it was Gandhi's requisite of Hindu policies that caused Mohammed to break Pakistan away from India.

Seems religions divide and equality combines.

So how Can We Purify Our Kali-Yuga Quarrel and Hypocrisy Mentality With Devotion?

be honest before faith.

or let's try defining;

Religious command: faith over truth

Universal command: True over faith

Begin each day with affirmations; 'true over faith'

Peace reigns in Understanding.

So as much as Mohammed tried to keep India together under the ideas of equality; apparently the 'time' was not right.

What lessons can we learn from how this division occurred?

the religion(s) did it!
