"THE LAW OF KARMA" book ..I read about a south indian shiva temple on

a mountain where females are not allowed and males too go there to

worship only one day in the year..i.e. on maha shivaratri day. Can any

"Om Namah Shivaya"

Dear All,

I do not know where this temple is and quite frankly would not wish to go to any such temple where females are not allowed.

Even God, when He takes on an incarnation to come into this World is born to a woman who He calls mother and who is His guru.

Is not one of the scriptural injunctions to honour ones mother and father?

No, it is not Parvatha Malai. My friend once went

to parvatha malai with his wife and sister. So women

are allowed there. It is very difficult to climb

ParvathaMalai. That's why women generally don't

preffer to go there.

I think, there is no such Shiva temple where women

are not allowed. More over Our lord is

Ardhanaareeshwarar. He is the Lord who teaches humans

that women are equally important like men.

Om Namah Shivaya.

..............Bala.

In the garbha greha of Shri Mahakaleshwara temple in Ujjain, women are not allowed during the maharudraabhishekam in the morning in which men wear red dhotis. After than abhishekam women can come inside. And usually women visit the temple. But only during this particular ceremony they are not allowed. I have been a part of this abhishek during Shivratri with my Gurudev.

The ancient Shiva temple of Bhojpur where queen Kunti used to worship Lord Shiva is open from sunrise till sunset. No one dares to stay after sunset there ever. Its situated in a secluded area high atop a small hill. The Shivalinga is 21 feet. And it used to come upto Kunti's chest level when she used to offer sacred water. Half of the Shivalinga is under ground other part is above it. Still its too high for normal people of our age and there are stairs to reach up. There is no man woman restriction there.

Namah Shivaya!!

I think it is Velliangiri temple near coimbatore.

To my knowledge only small girls are allowed to climb. It is because of the difficulty i hope. It is visited by lakhs of devotees on Chitra pournami.
