If they dont get the required points, they are considered weak. Look for Saravali, atma-jnana is for sun, look sun shadbala to know how much atma jnana one has. Atmakaraka always win when we talk about arudhas, for narayana dasa see more planets, jupiter and mercury for resources and exalted'own. More popular thing is to see avatsha of planet, house, and association and dristis. See also Navamsa. This will tell You which Graha has a lot to say. Now question is where ? Which area ? See houses. Trikona is dharma of Your personality and ideals. Kendra gives 4 fundamental pillars of life and support. See planets aspecting L and AL by Rasi Dristi - it will give traits, Graha Dristi gives internal character which You can apply because of association. Basics...but very important.
